▪ In VEST, post–myocardial infarction patients with low ejection fraction randomized to the WCD had nonsignificant decreases in arrhythmic and nonarrhythmic mortality and a nominally significant 36% decrease in overall mortality. ▪ When considering the WCD, we recommend shared decision making, which should include discussion of the nuances of the VEST findings, as well as the potential downsides of the WCD, such as alarms and discomfort.

We found a negative nominally significant correlation between alcohol use disorder and CT1 (r g = −0.18, p unc = 0.035, p FDR = 0.22).
Association of known AD risk loci with amyloid burden and association of amyloid loci with AD risk We examined the top IGAP genome-wide significant SNPs (Supplementary Table S3.1 ) and the associated gene regions (Supplementary Table S3.2 ) in relation to amyloid burden and found only some nominally significant SNPs.
Given p-values ranging from < 0.001 to values approaching 0.05, several nominally significant associations may represent false positives.
Stratified results are presented for all nominally significant associations.
Considering the a priori associations for these regions there appears to be an over-representation of nominally significant results, suggesting that a number of the analyzed SNPs might be true TB susceptibility loci.
As shown in Table E and in panels A and B of Fig B in S1 File , the distribution of p-values for these association tests with the naMCI and HC cohorts showed few nominally significant features, with p-values below 0.05, and zero features with estimated FDRs below 1.
First, the length of the intervention was only 12 weeks, a longer duration may be more informative and enhance nominally significant associations in light of our modest caloric intervention.
The RVKT statistic was nominally significant for 8 of the 35 traits in the density study (p min ≤0.05).
Four variants (in EP300 , GATAD2A , KDM3B , and RERE ) showed nominally significant association with one or several cognitive task, while the risk allele for GATAD2A associated also with lower “Full Scale IQ.” Collectively, this study indicates that genetic variation in the NuRD core subunit GATAD2A or in the NuRD-interacting regulators CTIP2 and SATB2 contributes to cognitive impairment in SCZ.
The other food group determinants of Apo parameter concentrations and ratios (i.e., those that reached the Bonferroni-corrected significance level and remained at least nominally significant in the mutually adjusted model) were as follows: high ApoA1 = high intake of fish (women), butter-based fat (women and men), eggs (men), and processed meat (men) and low intake of low-sugar grains/cereals (women and men) and ice cream (men); high ApoB = high intake of potato (women) and non-processed meat (men) and low intake of low-sugar grains (women and men) and ice cream (women); and the ApoB/A1 ratio = high intake of potato (women) and low intake of ice cream (women).
Non-parametric and parametric linkage analysis of the entire pedigree as well as on smaller clusters of families identified several nominally significant linkage peaks, each of which included dozens of predicted deleterious variants.
In sensitivity analyses, we employed a range of methods, including MR-Egger intercept, leave-one-out test, and funnel plot, for both statistically significant and nominally significant estimates.
Other nominally significant genes are reported in Table S2.
29 The lead SNP, rs35873421, showed a nominally significant association with ABCG1 expression in peripheral blood, while the second independent SNP, rs3787986, exhibited a strong association, with the alternate T allele linked to higher ABCG1 expression ( Z score = +5.7). 29 Additionally, 11 suggestive SNPs ( p < 1 × 10 −5 ) in high LD (r 2 > 0.9) with rs3787986 were also associated with increased ABCG1 expression ( Table S3 ).
The gene module was also enriched in genes that are nominally significant in at least one dataset ( \documentclass[12pt]{minimal} \usepackage{amsmath} \usepackage{wasysym} \usepackage{amsfonts} \usepackage{amssymb} \usepackage{amsbsy} \usepackage{mathrsfs} \usepackage{upgreek} \setlength{\oddsidemargin}{-69pt} \begin{document}$${P}_{sig}^{hyper}=2.3\times {10
A list of all SNPs exhibiting a nominally significant trait-association is provided in Supplementary Table 5.
Our sensitivity analyses indicated robust associations across various settings (females only, males only, 2020 only, 2021 only, non-severe outcomes, severe outcomes) where most associations remained nominally significant in each sub-analyses or had overlapping confidence intervals in their sensitivity analyses.
However, the interaction with MT-hg K in the baseline model was nominally significant, whereas the interaction with MT-hg T was no longer significant in the survival model. 4.
We also observed a nominally significant association of the APOE ε2 allele with POAG.
The proportion of phenotypic variance cumulatively explained by nominally significant variants detected by the SGS test first increased with decreasing nominal significance thresholds and then decreased ( Figure 4 a,c).
3 A recent methylome profiling study in major depressive disorder (MDD) did not identify any significant loci after correction for multiple testing; however, it successfully validated 60% of the top nominally significant differences. 4 In the above studies, the brain samples interrogated consisted of “bulk” brain tissue preparations representing cellularly heterogeneous mixes of neuronal and non-neuronal cell types.
9–12 However, the benefit of SITT versus ICS/LABA for other clinical outcomes vary: CAPTAIN showed no significant reduction in moderate/severe exacerbation rates and nominally significant improvements in symptom control; 10 IRIDIUM showed no significant reduction in exacerbations or symptom control; 9 TRIMARAN/TRIGGER demonstrated significant reductions in moderate/severe exacerbations in TRIMARAN but not TRIGGER; 11 and KALOS/LOGOS showed varying improvements in severe exacerbation
If the authors of the original trial report nominally significant p-values for the treatment effect but note that the side effects were so severe that the trial failed, we record the statistics from the trial in a Piece of Evidence but do not allow it to increment E-scores.
Because recent studies have suggested that the development of proteinuria and its progression to ESRD may be influenced by different genetic factors, we analyzed the eight nominally significant ELMO1 SNPs for association with prevalent proteinuria ( n = 284) and ESRD ( n = 536) ( Table 2 ) ( 20 , 21 ).
