HLA-DRB111:01 has been linked to an increased risk of developing irAEs such as pruritus, while HLA-DQB103:01 has shown a nominally significant association with colitis in patients undergoing ICI therapy [ 32 - 35 ].

There were 5,908 unique ATAC peaks with at least one nominally significant peak-gene allelic effect, predominantly in promoter ( N = 2312, 39%) and intronic regions ( N = 2082, 35%).
Of note, among the different disorders, the highest number of nominally significant associations was found for the GAD diagnosis, linked to metabolites (i.e., ApoB, VLDL cholesterol, remnant cholesterol, serum total triglycerides, and Gp) previously shown to be altered in the current purely depressed and current comorbid group.
The only items with nominally significant differences between settings were comfrey for quality of life (McNemar test; unadjusted P ═ 0.019; Cohen’s g ═ –0.09) and acupressure for nausea/vomiting (McNemar test; unadjusted P ═ 0.035; Cohen’s g ═ 0.05), with otherwise uniformly trivial effect sizes ( Tables S4 and S5 ).
We repeated the analyses using normalised methylation levels and observed that the association between cg15832436 and LDD remained nominally significant.
We found nominally significant evidence for allelic variation at one SNP (rs17268988) being associated with the number of DSM-IV inattentive symptoms, with males possessing a G allele ( n = 51) showing more inattentive symptoms than those possessing the more common C allele ( n = 163) ( U = 4906, nominal P value = 0.026; Table 2 ).
P <0.05 was considered as nominally significant.
Nevertheless, it is still reasonable that functional analysis is performed on a larger set of genes including only nominally significant sites to explore whether important functional interrelationships exist.
Five SNPs showed nominally significant allelic associations with BD (rs2295814, rs61865882, rs10995315, rs2297488, and rs2297489), and the positive associations of all except rs2297488 remained significant after multiple testing correction.
Multiple nominally significant associations were found between all population groups and markers in the AQP5 locus.
A subsequent study in 1,211 European HD individuals found an association of GRIN2A rs2650427, and when stratified by AO subtypes, they found a nominally significant association with rs1969060 ( GRIN2A ) and rs1806201 ( GRIN2B ) [ 15 ].
Adjusting for comparable covariates, among the mitochondrial-specific sites that were FDR-significant in the PROGRESS cohort, one was nominally significant in the replication cohort (cg17297328, mapping to SLC25A24 ) ( Supplemental Table S12 ).
36 , 37 , 38 In the multiple linear regression models for plasma testosterone levels, 12 CpG sites were nominally significant and 20 CpG sites for plasma LH levels.
A total of 202 (77%) of 262 TDP-43 interacting proteins were quantified in the current TDP-43 AP-MS data set, wherein 65 proteins were nominally significant.
However, the results were only nominally significant at a subset of the P T values; hence, although the trends are in the direction predicted by the hypotheses, we do not consider these secondary tests as robust.
Indeed, nominally significant associations were observed with all diseases except psoriasis (Fig. 1c ).
Here, using a large sample size and prospectively collected data, we report consistent results suggesting that there is no evidence for increased BMI having a strong effect on disability in MS: we noted a very modest correlation between BMI and MSRS in the cross-sectional analysis (rho = 0.17, n = 1336) and only a nominally significant association in the analysis of the longitudinal MSRS data (estimate (95% CI) = 0.0133 (−0.00013, 0.0267)), suggesting that there is no clinically meaningful role for BMI in disability for MS in most individuals.
For transcription factor binding site analysis, there is still significant uncertainty about experimentally verified annotations, and a lot of nominally significant sequences were identified, so an equally stringent significance cut off of FDR <0.05 was used in both 22-miRNA and 5-miRNA restrictive gene target lists.
Mendelian randomization results for nominally significant outcomes in the IVW analysis and FDR outcomes using the IVW method.
We first tested the association between HLA types and irAEs of different organs in our ICI treatment cohort (nominally significant HLA variants shown in Figure 4 ), then validated this association by comparing the frequency of HLA types between participants with irAEs and the Novegene cancer reference cohort and the healthy MHC-Han Chinese reference cohort.
Of all analyses of baseline traits, roughly one third of the tests were nominally significant associations, and 35 associations were significant after correcting for all 448 hypothesis tests; these involved 12 SNPs and 13 traits ( Table S2 ).
Nominally significant findings were detected for 14 genes ( Table 3 ), none remained significant after correction for multiple testing.
In the meta-analysis of Yale-Penn EAs ( n = 1917), one genome-wide significant (GWS) signal emerged at the CHRM3 locus, represented by rs115455482 ( P = 1.66 × 10 −10 ), rs74722579 ( P = 2.81 × 10 −9 ), and rs1938228 ( P = 1.57 × 10 −8 ); signals were GWS in Yale-Penn 1 EAs ( n = 1092) and nominally significant in Yale-Penn 2 EAs ( n = 825).
