At LPL on chromosome 8, the minor allele A at rs17091905 increased HDL-C and decreased triglycerides, but the direction of the nominally significant effect on CRP was to increase it.

EMID2_BL1_ht2 , comprising alleles of nominally significant SNPs, rs6945102 , rs4729697 , rs221 , and rs10435333 , was found to be significantly associated with nasal polyposis in the overall Korean asthma patients even after multiple testing corrections, suggesting that the variant may be a marker for inflammation of the nasal mucosa and paranasal sinuses.
In the analysis by individual IGA score, the number of patients in each subgroup was relatively small; nevertheless, the differences observed between dupilumab and placebo were nominally significant.
The nominally significant result for years of education in males (SNP rs2734647) was accounted for by including it as a covariate in all models with target measures as dependent variables.
We found that a nominally significant reduction consistently with the overall population in the adjusted SAR was observed in contacts of index cases aged < 12 years treated with BXM compared to OTV.
All genetic correlations between sex comb component traits were positive and nominally significant (based on | r G | > 2SEs; Table 2 ).
As metabolite classes overall are not correlated, we used the false discovery rate (FDR) 24 to adjust for multiple comparisons with FDR < 0.05 considered statistically significant and FDR < 0.2 considered nominally significant.
Improvements were observed across all PROMIS-29 domains, most notably pain, fatigue, physical function, satisfaction with social participation, and depression; improvements in these domains were nominally significant for both guselkumab treatment groups compared with placebo at Week 24.
P ⩽0.05 were considered as nominally significant.
The nominally significant association between ICH and financial difficulties requires independent replication in future studies to be considered robust.
In the same study, although a nominally significant difference in PCa risk for the Eurasian-derived haplogroup N was found, the investigators noted the false positive rate was greater than 20% after multiple testing correction [ 35 ].
SNPs in 6 other genes also showed nominally significant differences.
However, reversal of Drd1 and Drd2 expression was only nominally significant after treatment with either the 10 or 30 mg/kg dose of pridopidine [ 19 ].
There was a nominally significant difference in adherence between the groups at visit 4; however, the difference was not considered statistically significant in view of multiple secondary outcomes examined (adjusted mean difference 12·7% [95% CI 0·9 to 24·4]; p=0·035; table 2 ).
A nominally significant association with N-stage did not survive correction for multiple testing ( Table 5 ).
They reported nominally significant associations between G2 risk alleles and LN in African American patients, which did not meet Bonferroni-adjusted significance thresholds accounting for multiple testing. 8 By comparing individuals with SLE with and without LN, our study specifically addressed whether APOL1 high-risk genotypes are associated with LN in people with SLE.
When inspecting GMV, we found a nominally significant main effect of CSF p-tau/Aβ42 in the Braak III and IV ROI indicating a positive association, which, however, did not survive correction for multiple testing ( F 1228 = 4.03, P = 0.04, pFDR = 0.11, η p 2 = 0.31 ; Fig. 2A and B ).
Finally, if considered together, a disproportionate number of nominally significant effects are from analyses for schizophrenia and epilepsy as opposed to diseases and traits with no evidence for an association with deletion status (4/6 vs. 3/27; p = 0.01, two-sided Fisher’s exact test).
For the RNA-seq data, nominally significant differentially expressed genes were used to test the enrichment of up- and down-regulated ALP pathways using Fisher’s exact test.
Although our study was underpowered for genome-wide significance, SNP rs6474264 within ZMAT4 ( p = 5.54 × 10 –6 ) was found to be nominally significant, with a decreased risk for glaucoma medication non-adherence (OR, 0.22; 95% CI, 0.11–0.42)).
Four signals had both nominally significant evidence of heterogeneity and opposing directions of effect (5q33.3 ADRA1B , 11q13.1 CATSPERZ , 17p11.2 FBXW10 , 18p11.21 LDLRAD4 ). 3.2.1 Evidence supporting loci with significant heterogeneity We investigated the support for each genome‐wide significant locus in the meta‐analysis with strong evidence for heterogeneity and effect size estimates in opposite directions between the discovery and replication data sets.
For regional-level analyses utilizing 88 MR estimates, a Bonferroni-corrected P-value of 0.05/88 (5.68×10 -4 ) was used, while any p<0.05 was set as nominally significant.
Because the magnitude of these associations in terms of cell biology is unclear, the nominally significant results could include biologically important associations even if the change in methylation is quite subtle.
Potentially protective cell types (i.e., those exhibiting a nominally significant negative correlation between cell content and PRS) in the aforementioned two breast cancer settings included dendritic cells, eosinophils, macrophage M2, monocytes, neutrophils, and T cell terminal differentiation ( Figure 3 A).
Our candidate gene analyses indicated a nominally significant association of lifetime PTSD risk with SNP rs2074621 ( N = 922 rebel war survivors from Northern Uganda), located in an intronic region within NOTCH3 on chromosome 19 (Human GRCh37/hg19; Kent et al., 2002 ).
