LD lookup variants were chosen using the following criteria: (1) they were less than 1,500 kb away from the lead variant; (2) they had a P < 0.01; (3) and their LD squared Pearson’s correlation with the lead variant was higher than a dynamic LD threshold based on the P value of the lead variant so that the expected P value of the linked variant would be nominally significant ( r 2 = 5/inverse chi-squared survival function ( P value)).
The nominally significant variants do not appear to be in LD with G2019S or M1646T.
8 , 14 We report only nominally significant genetic correlations with coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction, suggesting a potential common genetic background with atherosclerotic disease.
BFF MDI 320/10 μg and 160/10 μg reduced the rate of moderate/severe COPD exacerbations versus FF MDI (rate ratios 0.67 [95% CI 0.54–0.82; p=0.0001] and 0.71 [95% CI 0.58–0.87; p=0.0010], respectively; these endpoints were not included in the Type I error control strategy, so were nominally significant) ( table 2 ).
These included a sensitivity analysis for radiographic PFS that showed a nominally significant difference benefiting the combination group.
Re-analysis by subpopulation showed a nominally significant reduction in the primary outcome in the subpopulation of participants enrolled in the Americas, who had characteristics consistent with clinical HF and per-protocol study medication use (Table 1 ) [ 12 , 34 ].
Nominally significant associations were identified in ten genes after adjustment for intragenic SNPs; CYP2A6 and two CYP2A6 SNPs attained experiment-wide significance adjusted for correlated SNPs ( CYP2A6 P ACT =4.1E-7, rs4803381 P ACT =4.5E-5, rs1137115, P ACT =1.2E-3).
P < 0.05 was considered as nominally significant and P < 0.05/6 (0.008) was considered as significant after correcting by Bonferroni measures.
To avoid associations due to one single species, when we refer to genes that are nominally significant in the PGLS analysis, we always refer to those that were nominally significant for the P value conservative regressions ( P cons < 0.05).
We found that a nominally significant reduction consistently with the overall population in the adjusted SAR was observed in contacts of index cases aged < 12 years treated with BXM compared to OTV.
Differential abundance testing did not reveal any metabolites with a statistically significant association with CBT response after correcting for multiple hypothesis testing, though 55 metabolites were nominally significant (Table S3).
Nominally significant survival associations at the germline level, combined with SV-expression association and other information such as survival associations at the expression-level can help prioritize genes for further investigation.
In the mouse model, regression analyses comparing COMBI-db/db and MET-db/db groups revealed 82 nominally significant plasma metabolites (Fig. 2 B and Additional file 1: Table S5).
While HLA-DRB1*15:01 reached the significance threshold in the meta-analysis (p=8.38×10 −5 ), it was only nominally significant in the Colorado study, with a low probability of replication (PPR=0.35%) ( supplementary table S5 and figure S3 ).
Based on the one-way ANCOVAs, three nominally significant associations were found with the anxiety scale, and one with the depression scale.
The nominally significant result for years of education in males (SNP rs2734647) was accounted for by including it as a covariate in all models with target measures as dependent variables.
For protein-coding genes, a 53% (1.64 SD) elevation in the mutation rate will thus never be nominally significant. 3.2 Length scale of regions with biased mutation rates The neutral background mutation rate is predicted by the statistical mutation-rate model relying on a number of genomic features known to correlate with the mutation rate in cancer ( Bertl et al. , 2018 ).
This comparison for all seven available factors revealed a nominally significant differences in the chromosome 19 optimal subsets identified from OSA analysis of chromosomes 17 (52 families) and 6 (30 families) for the "developmental milestones" cluster.
This study found that the correlation between saliva and brain epigenome-wide profiles is as high as r = 0.90 and 15.1% of individual CpGs in saliva correlated to brain at a nominally significant level ( Braun et al., 2019 ).
We observed a total of 131 nominally significant associations for 67 ageing-related proteins, with more than ten proteins being associated with the incidence of dyslipidemia, hypertension, type 2 diabetes (T2D), fatty liver and hepatitis (Supplementary Table 10 ).
In terms of survival analysis, the highest number of nominally significant associations was obtained using tumor data (rather than healthy colon data) and OS as the end point (Extended Data Fig. 7d and Supplementary Table 7 ).
After adjustment for effects of age, however, only the correlations with hippocampal volume, inferior parietal and inferior frontal cortical thickness were nominally significant ( Table 4 ).
