We selected marginally significant variables for each model ( P < 0.1) using backwards step-wise regression using the R package vegan ( Zelenı, 2011 ; Oksanen et al., 2015 ).
To evaluate independent factors associated with NOSVA (time-dependent variable), significant or marginally significant univariate risk factors ( p < 0.10) recorded prior or at the time of the first episode of NOSVA, were examined using backward stepwise multivariate Cox proportional-hazards regression model; septic myocardial dysfunction and patient severity as assessed by SAPS II score at ICU admission were also included in the model; thus, the five variables included in the model were SAPS II score at ICU admission, age, septic myocardial dysfunction, renal and non-renal SOFA scores at day 1 of septic shock.

It revealed that context effect was significant on incompatible trials, F (1,11) = 5.11; p < .05, and marginally significant for compatible trials, F (1,11) = 3.26; p = .10.
The relevant coefficient was also marginally significant for migration between SA4s (OR = 0.91; p < 0.1).
For multivariate analyses, we adjusted for marginally significant ( p < 0.1) univariate factors as shown in Additional file 4 .
The association of these risk factors remained significant in multivariable logistic regression; OR: 10.51 (95% CI: 0.83–133.72; P = 0.07, marginally significant at P < 0.1) for pancreatic contrast injection and OR: 5.21 (95% CI: 1.27–21.292; P = 0.02) for SOD.
Gender was also a marginally significant moderator of social well-being ( β = −0.26, p < .10), but was not a moderator for the social connectedness ( β = −0.10, n.s.) or alexithymia associations ( β = −0.12, n.s.).
For men, the two-way interaction term (depressive symptoms × brokerage) predicting adjusted left hippocampal volume was marginally significant ( p = 0.10).
However, in our current study, intrinsic motivation did not emerge as a significant predictor of quality of life in breast cancer patients at the traditional alpha level of p < 0.05 (although it could be considered to be marginally significant at the less conservative level of p < 0.10).
In terms of medical school status, universities without a medical school demonstrated a stronger average for the depth of the authorship policy (Medical school: M = 2.66, SD = 1.26, No medical school: M = 3.36, SD = 1.03), and this mean difference was marginally significant ( t = 1.74, p < 0.10).
Small-worldness σ was widely reduced in AP within EC gamma, EC alpha, and EO alpha with significant ( p < 0.05) or marginally significant ( p < 0.10) group differences across one or two thresholds each (Fig. 1 ).
Initially, a single-variable model was estimated for all neighborhood socioeconomic and built environment predictors of trip frequency at the origin and destination zone, separately, with predictors found to be marginally significant ( p < 0.10) retained.
A simple linear regression analysis showed marginally significant (control, 0.05 ≤ p ≤ 0.1, Figure 4 A, Table 2 ) or significant (+25%, +50%, +75%, and +100% water addition treatment, all p ≤ 0.05, Figure 4 B–E, Table 2 ) downward quadratic correlations between OSR and the summer mean temperature (T sum ).
