In the 0–90 day window, however, additional adjustment for age slightly strengthened the association and improved statistical significance (OR=1.056, 95% CI 1.008 to 1.108, p=0.023), compared with the marginally non-significant estimate without age adjustment (OR=1.046, 95% CI 0.999 to 1.095, p=0.056) ( online supplemental table S5 ).
Whilst there was a marginally non-significant positive link between packed blood cell volume (PCV) and PC1 I ( F 1,76.7 = 3.77, P = 0.056) this was principally due to a strong relation of PCV to TLR9-mediated responses ( F 1,80.9 = 11.41; P = 0.001) but not responses mediated through other receptors (all P > 0.05).
The primary aim of the study was to identify a difference of 4.0% in 10-year overall survival between the two arms, but this aim was not achieved with a marginally non-significant benefit of 1.6% (p = 0.056) 56 .
In the full model, salinity showed a significant positive effect (p < 0.001), whereas temperature exhibited a marginally non-significant positive effect (p = 0.056).
Just as before, the ASC group showed significant reduction in the volume of the right arcuate as compared with controls [ t (18) = 16.669, p < 0.001], though their reduction in the volume of the left arcuate became marginally non-significant [ t (18) = 2.041, p = 0.056] ( Figure 4C ).
A General Linear Model with (1) mean heart rate as a continuous predictor, (2) snout-vent length and body mass at birth as dependent variables, and (3) embryo positioning and clutch of origin as categorical predictors yielded a marginally non-significant effect of embryo positioning F 2, 38 = 3.11; P = 0.056—see Fig. 5 ).

Expected parasitism based on a binary regional food web was a marginally non-significant predictor of observed parasitism ( z =1.9, P =0.056, with a partial regression coefficient of 1.9 (s.e.=0.99) for binary data ( Supplementary Table 8a ), compared with 2.3 (s.e.=0.84) for quantitative data ( Supplementary Table 3 ).
The analysis revealed marginally non-significant differences across groups (F (3,20) = 2.84, P = 0.056).
Association of HNF1B promoter methylation with protein expression was marginally non-significant (Z=1.91, N=67, P=0.056).
A marginally non-significant reduction was noted in 17-OH progesterone concentrations of 677TT carriers (0.78 ± 0.06-fold, exact p = 0.056) and no differences were observed between 677TT and 677CC individuals of the Group-400 for FF concentrations of the other measured steroids ( Fig. 2 ).
It is also worth mentioning that the CpG site cg19693031 in the 3’ UTR of TXNIP was only marginally non-significant (FDR-corrected p = 0.0563, Additional file 3 : Table S2).
A marginally non-significant small-study effect was also observed for the MD of the left OCW ( p = 0.0566).
Applying both restrictions the effect became marginally non-significant (coefficients=-6.65 ± 3.49, χ 2 1 = 3.62, p = 0.057) Decomposing first year survival into summer and winter survival indicated that the effect of offspring inbreeding coefficient on first year survival is driven by its effect on winter survival (coefficient=-15.2 ± 3.43, χ 2 1 = 19.6, p < 0.001, table 3 ).
Here, there was a marginally non-significant trend with slightly elevated survival in the standard rearing conditions in comparison to aseptic rearing (GLM: F 1,77 = 3.73, p = 0.057; Figure 2 ).
BC newborns were significantly smaller than MW newborns with regard to StL (Dunnett's test, T 15 =3.26, P =0.02), Ht ( T 15 =3.1, P =0.03) and TL ( T 15 =3.16, P =0.02), and showed a trend towards smaller TrL, though this was marginally non-significant ( T 15 =2.67, P =0.057).
For secretion profiles of female beetles 24 h after treatment, the treatment effect was marginally non-significant (PERMANOVA, F = 2.0, R2 = 0.17, P = 0.057).
Job physical effort was marginally non-significant ( p = 0.057).
The average K1 was 44.41 ± 3.92 D in the KC group and 43.22 ± 0.75 in the control group, and the differences were marginally non-significant ( p = 0.057).
For femur a marginally non-significant trend was observed (Mann-Whitney U Test: U = 15, p = 0.057) ( Fig 5 ).
However, oleic acid strongly induced pre-pupal removal (p = 0.0004) and marginally non-significant post-pupal removal (p = 0.057).
The interaction between treatment and body size was marginally non-significant ( F 1,23.8 = 4.02, P = 0.057; re-hibernated males: B = 0.1; SE = 0,195; unmated males: B = −0.069; SE = 0,126), whereas all other interactions involving body condition or body size remained non-significant (all P >0.11).
nordicum V4 was significant in one of the repeats but marginally non-significant in the other repeat ( p = 0.057, Dunnett’s test following ANOVA) ( Figure S4 ).
