In one case, based on simulations of IRS/ITN combined interventions, Yakob et al [ 16 ] recently reported that even though there is likely to be significant reduction of transmission by using 80% coverage with pyrethroid treated ITNs and DDT together at household level, this combination still resulted in higher transmission potential (basic reproductive number, R o = 11.1 down from an control baseline of 39.5), than 80% coverage with just the ITNs alone without the DDT (R o = 0.1).
Modular subnetworks are more robust across studies than regular subnetworks Comparing the modular subnetworks m1 to m5 and the regular subnetworks r1 to r5 derived from both studies, we found that modular subnetworks identified as significant in one study were highly likely to be significant in the other study (that is, seed genes of significant modular subnetworks were highly conserved across studies).
Subsequently, when we applied sequential Bonferroni correction ( Benjamini and Hochberg, 1995 ) to mitigate the so-called multiple comparison problem (where for a significant p -value of 0.05, 5% of tests are likely to be significant by chance), none of the loci in any of the four populations were found to be out of HWE ( Supplementary Table S2 ).
30 Although the COVID‐19 pandemic may have increased older people's engagement with digital technology to access services and facilitate social connection, there are still likely to be significant numbers who remain digitally excluded. 31 Research has identified critical cognitive, social, cultural and physiological barriers for this, including low self‐confidence, perceiving themselves as novices or lacking patience, fear of breaking devices and text or buttons being too small. 32 , 33 Therefore, supplying devices with mobile data provided, with bigger keypads and text magnification, and simplifying interfaces could support the participation of older adults in RDCTs.
From this comparison, we see that the effects of small- x resummation are likely to be significant only for the W and Z Drell–Yan data, where they could be as large as up to ∼ 5 % for ATLAS and CMS, and up to ∼ 8 % for the forward LHCb measurements, while they are most likely negligible for all other collider processes, such as jets, the Z p T , and top-quark pair production.
Further research into the likely impact of COLOFIT on the diagnosis of other serious bowel diseases, and the development of alternative referral pathways if the impact is likely to be significant, is therefore essential to ensure that people with these conditions are not disadvantaged.
