These correlations are reported for all the parameters in Table 2 , and indicate that there were no significant trends with age up to the age of 60 (although the ESN correlation had borderline significance), whereas MRRP, ESN and the 3 ramp parameters showed a significant difference between the younger and older subjects, and for 4 of these parameters there was a significant trend within the over 60 age group.
In contrast, the endocan levels were still increased in the remission patients although this difference reached only borderline significance when compared with the controls; this is consistent with our previous observation for pretransplant endocan levels in allotransplant recipients [ 77 ]; all of these patients were in complete remission but the endocan levels varied and several patients had relatively high levels.

This had borderline significance in the sensitivity analysis per independent read; median duration of response was 3.9 and 5.0 months with PFE + CIL2W and PFE alone, respectively (HR versus PFE alone: 1.92 [95% CI 0.99–3.74]; P = 0.053).
Patients with expression of HLA class I showed significant higher levels of Foxp3+ cells at borderline significance in their tumour punches compared with HLA class I downregulation or loss: a mean of 21 Foxp3+ cells in the expression group vs a mean of 12 and 14 positive cells in the downregulation group and in the loss of HLA class I group, respectively, P =0.07.
