Logistic regression analyses revealed that a lower consumer price index was a significant regional factor that characterized High-CR hospitals, and a lower population aged ≥65 years was a factor approaching significance that characterized the region where High-CR hospitals are located.
In the ordinal model for Tension-type headache (TTH) frequency, pharmacy faculty had lower odds (OR 0.26, p = 0.006) and on-campus living to reduced frequency (OR 0.40, p = 0.045) compared to references, with male gender (OR 0.59, p = 0.077) and smoking (OR 2.50, p = 0.057) approaching significance for lower and higher frequencies, respectively (Table 5 ).
In analyses stratified by age ( p = 0.07), sex ( p = 0.73), BMI ( p = 0.44) and hypertension ( p = 0.46) there were no significant interactions, although for age the p-value for interaction was approaching significance with a suggestive stronger association for current vs. never smokers (3.07, 2.14–4.41 vs. 1.77, 1.12–2.79) among participants aged ≥ 60 vs. those aged < 60 years (Supplemental Table 7).
Although relative preferences for modality of blood pressure monitoring were broadly consistent between ethnic groups, South Asian and African Caribbean participants rated all modalities of blood pressure monitoring less favourably than did their white British counterparts, albeit only approaching significance for the South Asian group for ABPM.
