The 30% significant reduction in perceived pain intensity in the exergaming exceeded the appropriate cut-off point for determining the minimal clinically important differences (MCID) of changes in pain intensity of 15%, where a numerical rating change score of − 2.0 and a percent change score of − 33% are best associated with the concept of “much better improvement” [ 94 ]. Multidimensional affect and pain variables (MAPS) ANCOVA revealed that the variable physically engaged; (F [1, 48] = 3.76, p = 0.06, ε 2 = 0.01, small effect) from the well-being subcluster approached significance in favour of exergaming (see Table 4 ).
The results of this analysis, presented in Supplementary Table 1, revealed that even with the inclusion of this extreme value, NPAR maintained a positive association with complicated appendicitis across all models, with significant associations observed in Model 1 and Model 2, while the association in Model 3 remained positive and approached significance.
Further, as described in Additional file 1 , Associations between changes in looking behaviour to faces and continuous behavioural and clinical phenotypic measures at age 3: follow-up analyses, when one extreme EC score (still within 3 SD of the HR-ASD group mean) was winsorised the direction of effect remained the same but the association now only approached significance.
Not all the coefficients associated with distances away from the diploid and tetraploid DNA values approached significance, although their values suggest that within the cervix uteri, large bowel, bladder and reticuloses sites near-diploid and near-tetraploid DNA values are associated with poorer survival, whilst in the corpus uteri, breast, ovary and testis sites greater distance from these values is associated with shorter survival times.
