In recent literature, the association between vertebrobasilar stroke or other cerebellar diseases, and impaired emotion recognition was found.[ 32 – 34 ] Furthermore, functional MRI studies showed that the cerebellum is critically implicated in social cognition.[ 35 , 36 ] It is up for discussion whether age and educational level should also have been included as covariates in the ANCOVA, because chi-square and t-tests on differences between patients and controls approached significance on these factors (age: t = -1.8, p = 0.08; and education level: X 2 = 2.5, p = 0.12).

Heterophils (p < 0.001) and the HL ratio (p = 0.004) were significantly higher in the outbreak turtles compared to the post-outbreak turtles, while the difference in total leukocyte count and monocyte count approached significance (p = 0.08).

Pain duration was less for individuals presenting with an Anchor as compared to the Ovate distribution (p = 0.04) and approached significance between the Anchor and Hook distribution (p = 0.08).

Accuracy for pseudowords (250 trials) had a slightly higher correlation with WJ-Word-ID (r = 0.86, p < 0.00001) than did accuracy for real words (r = 0.74, p < 0.00001), and this difference in correlation approached significance based on William’s test (p = 0.08; Fig. 1 right panel).
