Staining for AChRε at this early age showed a statistically significant increase in AChRε-/SV2+ NMJs in DKO muscle relative to control (13.4 ± 2.4% and 4.2 ± 2.2%, respectively; p = 0.008) and a corresponding reduction in AChRε+/SV2+ endplates (89.4 ± 4.5% control, 79.6 ± 5.2% DKO) that almost reached statistical significance (p = 0.07) ( Fig. 8c and d).
Variables demonstrating a significant correlation with mortality were hypothyroidism (HR = 2.3; p = 0.027), dementia (OR = 3.4; p = 0.014), and reduced mobility (HR = 0.34; p = 0.045) ( Figure 1 ); recurrent pneumonia almost reached statistical significance (HR = 2; p = 0.07).
34 A subgroup analysis published 2 years later found that in those with both the highest TG (>198 mg/dL) and lowest HDL-C (<33 mg/dL) tertiles, the addition of extended-release niacin to simvastatin provided a greater reduction in the primary end point with HR of 0.74, which almost reached statistical significance ( p =0.073). 35 If TG and HDL-C cut-off points were slightly adjusted to ≥200 and <32 mg/dL, respectively, a significant reduction in the primary end point was then observed with a HR of 0.64 ( p =0.032).
However, the interpretation of the results of the study is made difficult by the nature of his experimental design whereby many patients have modified the ‘belonging’ to the treatment group as a result of both drop-in and drop-out effects per control in the analysis per-protocol 100 mg/day of ASA reduced the risk of AMI by 47% ( P = 0.0014); the 19% reduction for the composite cardiovascular endpoint almost reached statistical significance ( P = 0.0756). 9 Primary cardiovascular prevention has also been studied in the geriatric population and of particular interest are the results deriving from the ASPREE studies.
Significant differences between the two phases were observed in ALT ( P = 0.011), DB ( P < 0.0001), and TB (P < 0.0001) levels, and the difference in AST almost reached statistical significance ( P = 0.078) ( Figure 2 ).
0.835; ΔC-index, 0.011; P = 0.035; NRI: − 0.8%, P = 0.811; IDI: 0.001, P = 0.812), which was highly attributable to the model improvement among males, which almost reached statistical significance in C-index increase and NRI but not IDI statistics (C-index: 0.835 vs. 0.823; ΔC-index, 0.012; P = 0.078; NRI: 9.8%, P = 0.086; IDI: − 0.005, P = 0.792).
Sex interaction with OSA and PLMS on EDS A multiple logistic regression without interaction terms showed that all independent variables (sex, AHI ≥30, and PLMI >15) were not significantly associated with an ESS score of ≥11, although an AHI of ≥30 almost reached statistical significance ( p =0.078) ( Table 2 ).
