In 19 MM cases, statistically significant correlation between variation in pre/post day 29 serum DPP4 titer and tumor volume was observed by SRDC analysis, while the correlation between day 29pre serum sCD26 titer and tumor volume almost reached statistical significance ( p = 0.065) by PPMC analysis.
In Group A (standard EAA (20% leucine)), improvements were observed in the 30-CST ( t (7)=−3.211, P =0.015)) and 6-WT ( t (7)=−2.859, P =0.024)); in Group B (modified EAA (40% leucine)), in the 6-WT ( t (7)=−2.659, P =0.032) and in the 30-CST, improvements almost reached statistical significance ( t (7)=−2.173, P =0.066).
In the multiple regression analysis, the only variable that remained statistically associated with neutrophil count was CRP (neutrophil count = 2.612 + 0.439lnCRP; standardised coefficient/beta: 0.384, P =0.001); BMI was excluded from this model but its partial correlation almost reached statistical significance (0.212, P =0.067).
In addition, patients carrying strong cytoplasmic NANOG expression (score 2) experienced a higher progression to OSCC than those with negative to moderate (scores 0 and 1) expression, and these differences almost reached statistical significance (HR = 4.35, 95% CI 0.88 to 22.42; p = 0.07). 3.4.
Variables demonstrating a significant correlation with mortality were hypothyroidism (HR = 2.3; p = 0.027), dementia (OR = 3.4; p = 0.014), and reduced mobility (HR = 0.34; p = 0.045) ( Figure 1 ); recurrent pneumonia almost reached statistical significance (HR = 2; p = 0.07).
