When stratified by decade of diagnosis, the median survival increased over time with a trend towards significance (1970–1980 7.6 months, IQR 2.9–18.9 vs 2000–2012 11.8 months, IQR 6.0–20.3; P =0.083; Figure 2 ).

Although there was no statistically significant difference in the prevalence of air trapping, there was a trend towards significance (29.1% males versus 22.2% females ( P = 0.083)).

In analysis of variance and multiple comparisons between groups, Caspase 3 expression showed a trend towards significance ( P = 0.083) with nS100A2-positive and p53-negative expression in comparison with nS100A2-negative and p53-positive expression.

The interaction between sex and social competence influenced the likelihood of SA, with males (OR = 0.24, 95% CI: 0.13 to 0.42, p <.001) showing a greater reduction than females (OR = 0.53, 95% CI: 0.35 to 0.80, p =.009), although this association only showed a trend towards significance ( p =.083).

Stratified by remission status at the time of HCT, patients in CR1 had an improved survival compared to those in CR2 or CR3 with 2-year OS of 69.5% vs 46.5% vs 25% with a trend towards significance ( P = 0.083) as shown in Figure 2A .

There was a trend towards significance for sleep problems and cortisol 20 minutes post-task ( B = -0.028, C.I. = -0.059 to 0.004, p = 0.083) when adjusting for covariates.

[ 20 ] In our study, while duration since completion of adjuvant therapy did not have any significance in term of QoL, cognitive functioning or IQ score, it showed a trend towards significance in Movement and Balance dimension of QoL (child reported score; P = 0.083 and parent-reported score; P = 0.082), cognitive problem dimension in parent-reported scores ( P = 0.053).

We found a trend towards significance for the GPC/PCho ratio (p = 0.0832), which indicates a change in the choline-containing metabolites associated with increased aggressiveness, however not detected when examining the metabolites individually.

Age demonstrated a trend towards significance in influencing survival (HR = 0.98, p = 0.084), suggesting that younger patients may have slightly better survival outcomes.

At the PSS, only a trend towards significance emerged (t = −1.767, df = 43, p = 0.084), with the scores at t2 being higher than t1.

The sucrose rinses led to an average pH drop of 0.37 points at baseline, which was significant (p < 0.05, Figure 4A ), and 0.23 points after supplement intake, which showed a trend towards significance (p = 0.084).
