In summary, revised Figure 1 now demonstrates (A) statistically significant effect of probiotic treatment on the distance moved in the light zone when mice of both sexes are considered in the analyses, (B) statistically significant effect of probiotic treatment on the distance moved in the light zone in female mice, which appear to drive the overall effect, and (C) a trend towards significance for the time spent in the light zone when both sexes are considered (p = 0.059), with probiotic-treated animals spending 10% more time in the light zone.

Figure 2C showed that TSP-1 decreased, if compared with d1, after 5 months of treatment (d155) with a trend towards significance ( P =0.059), whereas significantly increased at the time of progression if compared with d155 ( P =0.049).

The results suggest a trend towards significance for individuals reporting Low traumatic events ( p = 0.059) and Highly traumatic events ( p = 0.082), indicating potential positive relationships with LC integrity, while controlling for age and sex.

Besides mitotic index, tumor size and site, SKP2 high expression (RR = 2.91, 95% CI: 1.41–5.99, P = 0.004) and KIT exon 11 deletion (RR = 2.73, 95% CI: 1.04–7.16, P = 0.041) were also independent risk factors in multivariate analysis, with gastrointestinal bleeding also showing a trend towards significance (RR = 1.88, 95% CI: 0.98–3.64, P = 0.059).

When correlating CD and CP metrics between the two cohorts, we observed a moderate, statistically significant correlation for CD on the left side ( r = 0.635, p = 0.006), while the right side only showed a trend towards significance ( r = 0.466, p = 0.059).

The high- and low-zonulin groups showed no significant difference regarding age [ F (19,82) = 1.52, p = 0.183] but a trend towards significance regarding BMI [ F (1,100) = 3.66, p = 0.059] (Table 1 ).

We also noticed a trend towards significance in IP-10/CXCL10 ( p = 0.059).
