However, it is worth noting that we detected a small trend toward a lower HLA-DPB*0401 frequency in SoJRA patients (28%) as compared with healthy control individuals (35%), which is consistent with a previous report [ 6 ] that suggested a possible protective role for this particular HLA allele in SoJRA.
