In the IDEAL-LM study that included 818 patients undergoing LM PCI, a biodegradable-polymer everolimus-eluting stent followed by 4-month DAPT demonstrated noninferiority compared with a durable-polymer everolimus-eluting stent followed by 12 months of DAPT, although a numerical trend toward higher ischemic event rates was observed in the biodegradable polymer stent with the 4-month DAPT group [ 73 ].
Interestingly, despite the small treated cohort, a numerical trend toward a higher digoxin serum concentration and stronger reduction in the average cluster size at day 7 was observed (secondary endpoint) (linear regression coefficient −4.65, P = 0.14; Fig. 1g ), suggesting that higher digoxin serum levels or more potent Na + /K + ATPase inhibitors could be more effective in cluster dissolution.
The mean time in the catheterization laboratory or operating room did not differ between patients developing endocarditis and those who did not (Table S2 .) There was a numerical trend toward a higher proportion of concomitant percutaneous revascularization procedures among patients who developed subsequent endocarditis compared with those without endocarditis in the TAVR group (25% versus 8.3%; P =0.07); this was not observed for surgical revascularization in patients treated with SAVR (Table S2 ).
