However, it is striking that nuclear/cytoplasmic expression of β-catenin has not been shown by itself in this meta-analysis to be significantly associated with poor survival, although a marked trend of effect is shown ( p = 0.07); this result is probably due to the paucity of primary studies addressing this question (3 studies, 255 patients).

Smad3-infected cells in the Ad-Smad3 and Ad-Smad3/Ad-FoxO3 groups showed significant increases in phosphorylated and total Smad3 in the cytoplasm ( Figures 6C, D ), a marked trend ( p = 0.08) for increased phosphorylated Smad3 in the nucleus ( Figure 6E ), and significantly increased total Smad3 in the nucleus ( Figure 6F ) compared to Ad-GFP cells.

With the aid of solid-state SQUID magnetometry, we observed a marked trend of lesser antiferromagnetic coupling when expanding substitution to the heavier chalcogenide congeners which we attribute to the ∠Fe–E–Fe angle becoming more acute due to decreased hybridization in the heavier chalcogenides and poorer orbital overlap with Fe II d-orbitals.
