Due to the significant involvement of the characteristic chemical bonds in the quinoid resonance structure (e.g., a clear trend for the collective bond length changes for bonds 1–4 in Table 1 ), one would expect a blueshift of this quinoidal stretching mode around 1541–1554 cm −1 , and the mode frequency should follow the order of –H (R 2 ) > –H (R 1 ) > –Me (R 1 and R 2 ).
Despite the absence of a clear trend, the Grey Zone patient exhibited a markedly elevated IL-6 level (221.30 pg/mL), comparable to the highest value in the VL-HLH group (167.40 pg/mL), and also showed the highest splenic SUVmax (9.85), suggesting an inflammatory and metabolic phenotype more closely aligned with the VL-HLH group.
For the predicted most stable doped models, we studied and identified the most favorable sites for oxygen vacancy formation, finding that a clear trend in almost all selected Sm-doped CeO 2 (111) models: the second anionic layer of the slab model is the most preferred location for creating an oxygen defect, especially when the removed O ion is located close to the dopant(s), yielding the lowest oxygen vacancy formation energy.
