Apart from South Asians, the highly significant association of this variant was also observed in Europeans (LOLIPOP, and UKBB) (0.19 ± 0.004; p = 2.36 × 10 − 420 ) and others (MEC_CHS, DC_SP2, SAMAFS, MISS_OLIVER) (0.09 ± 0.01; p = 1.15 × 10 − 11 ), adjusting for the effects of age, gender, BMI, diabetes, and PCs.
Excerpts
The incidence of thyroid tumours in Group 1 males (53.30o) and females (2333%) was highly significant (P <- 0-001) when compared with the spontaneous incidence in controls (10% for males and 2% for females).
This differ- ence is highly significant (P<0-01) al- though this method of analysis may be open to criticism (R.
The relative radiosensitivity of the tumour in the OH compared to FFC nlice, virtually a measure of the effect of the changed genetic 5700 = 1-4 milieu, can be expressed as the ratio of the two LDzio S, 3950 4 (+ 0-05*). The magnitude of this ratio compared to its standard error shows the difference in radiosensitivity of the two groups to be highly significant (p < 0-0001).
Interestingly, although a lobulated appearance showed an increased risk, this did not reach statistical significance (OR, 3.45; 95% CI, 1.27–9.37; P < 0-001 0.015), suggesting that an increasingly irregular morphology is important in the risk of rupture.
A hypergeometric test showed that the large overlap between the two datasets was highly significant with a p-value <1.0E–1000.
The most highly significant pathway found in the KEGG pathway analysis was fatty acid biosynthesis (p<1E-325).
Correlations between enrichment scores in replicate drug treatments were highly significant (p<10 −900 ; n ≈ 10 6 ) although of modest magnitude (0.1 to 0.3) ( Figure 4B ).
Similarity of gene expression between the two groups was highly significant ( p = 1.0 e-323).
The difference between pathogenic and benign SVs was highly significant (rare versus common OR = 13.06, P = 5.43 × 10 - 323 , Fisher’s Exact Test).
For this comparison, we found a significant trend in the opposite direction ( p = 2.77 × 10 − 322 ) (Fig. 3 c).
4 C) and, although the overlap is small, it is highly significant compared with randomly reshuffled genomic regions ( P <10 −320 ; Fig. 4 C).
2d ) is highly significant for all possible overlaps between the stages (hypergeometric test, p < 1.921718e- 319 ) allowing for using of these differentially methylated CGs as peripheral markers of HCC.
Using (Log 2 [ β /(1 – β )]=0) as cutoff, Fisher’s exact test shows highly significant interdependence between gene expression and DNA methylation in the promoter region ( P = 4.5E-315) ( Figure 3 A).
Both conditions shared a highly significant overlap in their DEGs (396 overlapping up-regulated and 445 down-regulated DEGs; P < 10 −314 for both comparisons) and similarly regulated several direct YAP1 downstream target genes ( Supplemental Fig.
A χ 2 test ( supplementary table S1 , Supplementary Material online) revealed a highly significant overrepresentation of new–new and old–old node connections within the MMM12+ network, whether using OMA groups ( P < 1.1E – 311) (as is shown in fig. 1 B ) or MAP clusters ( P < 1.1E – 311).
This marker is a highly significant eQTL for MYOM2 on eQTLGen (P = 3.2717 × 10 –310 ) and GTEx (P = 9.5 × 10 –20 ) in whole blood.
Considering all tested SNPs in open chromatin peaks (the majority of which presumably have no true effect on chromatin accessibility), the correlation is more modest, though highly significant (iPSC correlation 0.12; P < 10 −308 ).
Finally, introns and lincRNAs have a more tolerant gwRVIS score distribution that more closely resembles the distribution from intergenic regions, but due to the sheer size of the corresponding score lists the divergence remains highly significant (median scores: −0.050, −0.0015; Mann–Whitney U vs. intergenic: p < 1 × 10 −308 and p = 2.6 × 10 −168 , respectively).
All of the overlap between pairs of cohorts mentioned above was highly significant (Fisher’s exact p < 1×10 -308 ); however, a caveat of this analysis is that the four brain regions were sampled from the same set of individuals.
The overlap between DroFN and the Drosophila proteome interaction map (DPiM [ 44 ]) was highly significant (Fisher Exact Test p < 10 −308 ).
Analysis of breast cancer transcriptomes (METABRIC cohort) also evidenced a very good correlation between the expression of FOLR2 and those of genes of the “anti-inflammatory gene set”, which reached statistical significance in most cases ( Figure 2 C), and was highly significant for CD163 (Pearson: 0.72; p = 1.71 × 10 −308 ) and even CD68 (Pearson: 0.59; p = 1.25 × 10 −176 ), another widely used marker for macrophage identification ( Figure 2 C).
We note that the P -value of the Spearman correlation was highly significant in every single case ( P -value <2e-308) because of the large number of data-points.
In terms of p-value, 25 out of 58 tests are nominally significant ( p < 2.2 e − 308), with 6 out of 58 being significant after adjusting for 58 tests, including variants in TCF7L2 and age for Glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), variants in SMOX and sex for High light scatter reticulocyte count, Reticulocyte percentage, and Immature reticulocyte fraction, variants in CSP1 and sex for Mean platelet (thrombocyte) volume.
In consistent with this, the association between rs4759076 and mean platelet volume is highly significant ( p = 2.2 × 10 −308 ) [ 30 ].
