However, despite a strong trend towards an impaired prognosis in patients with low TWEAK serum levels (below 808.3 ng/mL), this ideal cut-off value was still unable to significantly identify a subgroup of patients with an impaired overall survival ( Figure 3 D).
The function curve was nonlinear and there was a significant trend approaching decreased all-cause mortality, especially for a daily statin dose >0.122 DDD (equal to 2.4 mg atorvastatin) within a time-span of 60 days, before leveling out after approximately 1.0 DDD ( Figure 4 ). 4.
Importantly, the clinically significant difference may vary depending on the situation; e.g., for neurosurgical patients with critically elevated intracerebral pressure, changes of more than 0.5 kPa in PaCO 2 values may be extremely significant.
However, this latter evidence was only borderline significant, and the study did not consider time-dependent events that could have influenced mortality, thus misestimating the potential beneficial effect of statins on different outcomes.
However, the continent group, the change of hip extensor muscle strength and endurance were definitely significant between the continent and incontinent groups.
The low number of patients with SAP in our group may in fact be responsible for the lack of a significant difference in uPAR concentrations between SAP and less severe AP, however, we also did not observe a significant difference between the MAP and MSAP patients, that was highly significant in the study of Lipinski et al.
Hemoglobin showed a trend to higher levels, associated with a better iron utilization (increase of TSAT) and a reduction of ferritin levels ( Table 2 ).
In univariate analysis, five miRNAs (miR-26a-5p, miR-126-3p, miR-130b-3p, miR-205-5p, and miR-21-5p) were significantly associated with DFS in SCC patients at 5% significance level, whereas two miRNAs (miR-26b-5p and let-7a-5p) showed borderline significance ( Table 3 A).
However, the analysis of within-subject Bray–Curtis dissimilarities with respect to patients’ metadata revealed no significant associations (there was a statistical trend for sex and smoking status, Figure 7 ).
Genotypic and allelic comparisons from GWAS with a p -value between 0.05 and 5 × 10 −8 had a borderline significance and were separately organized in Table 9 . 2.4.
Although we did find a borderline significant 7% increase in AMI risk among the elderly, our findings did not support entirely such hypothesis, which requires confirmation.
blood lymphocyte and basophil counts in both men and women, whereas a positive trend between monocytes vs. triglycerides and lymphocytes vs. total cholesterol and LDL-cholesterol (LDL-C) was only detected in women.
The smaller decrease of eGFR in the PTX group with respect to the control group showed a trend at 6 months and reached statistical significance after 1 year, suggesting that a longer duration of treatment with PTX is necessary to observe a therapeutic benefit on renal function.
Being homeless (OR 3.6, 95% CI 0.9–14.6, p = 0.076) or unemployed (OR 2.0, 95% CI 0.95–4.0, p = 0.068) showed a trend for an increased risk of multiple ED visits in frequent ED users.
Elevated MPVs on PODs 2, 3, and 5 were independently associated with poor 1-year survival, with postoperative HR following an increasing trend (HR = 1.522, 1.820, and 1.970, respectively).
In a multivariate logistic regression analysis with CTRP1 and these parameters to test its association with sepsis, only CRP remained an independent and highly significant predictor of sepsis.
When associations of the meta-analysis summary effect sizes were analyzed with an inverse of the variance, meta-analyses with small variances showed a trend of summary effects towards 1.00 in cancer incidence, as shown in Figure 2 . 3.3.
Although the obtained regressions were highly significant according to the CV-ANOVA, the explained variations in MIS were less than 10% (R 2 = 0.08 in both analyses).
A nonsignificant trend of fewer cases of new-onset preeclampsia and preeclampsia as the delivery indication in women treated with sildenafil was also reported in the NZAus STRIDER trial [ 23 ].
