The transcript abundance of cinnamyl alcohol dehydrogenase-like protein decreased significantly ( P < 0.05) after salt treatment in Zhongmu-1, whereas that of Jemalong A-17 did not significantly change, though there was a decreasing trend (Figure 5 ).
Excerpts
NIL-Z-7A-5, which was introgressed with the upper segment of the 7AS target region, exhibited between 32 and 45% advantage over the recurrent parent in GY and TotDM (significant for WW and nearly significant for WL) coupled with 6–9 days delayed DP-H, consistently across the two years (Table 3 , Figure 2C ).
The statistical significance of numerical differences remain inflated, however, so it would be judicious to treat any marginally significant results with caution and rather interpret effect sizes rather than P -values per se (see discussion by Ellison et al., 2014 ).
(2005) reported that the translocation of ABA from roots to shoots may be blocked in the stay green cultivar (Maize P3845) in which lower ABA level might be significant for delaying leaf senescence.
Future Prospects Vaccinium berries are among economically the most important fleshy berry fruits worldwide, and the interest in utilization of both cultivated and wild berries of the genus has been showing an increasing trend.
Leaf N concentration varied significantly between genotypes and the effect of N-fertilization levels was highly significant (Table 1 ) with values increasing as N fertilization increased (Table 2 ).
Quality of the Fruits The TSS content of berries was 5.4% greater in DF and NaCl than those of the TRASPBIO treatment ( Figure 7I ) and showed an increasing trend up to 30 days after the first harvest, then decreased.
The concentrations of K + showed a decreasing trend in all treatments, but the lowest concentration was recorded in the SP10 100 DAT, mainly because of the lower concentrations in fruits and pruned leaves (data not shown).
Consequently, as occurs with Ca 2+ ions, the BA transport by the apoplastic flux at sites may be significant where lateral roots penetrate the endodermis.
Solute content showed only few statistically significant differences between the regions (Table 3 , Figure 3B ), and a decreasing trend with increasing sample age (Table 3 ).
A marginally significant correlation was found between density and protein content of the seeds from NaCl salinized soil under low fertilization.
Fewer anticlinal cell divisions are probably associated with a decreasing trend of annual growth with age (Keunecke et al., 2009 ) but might be also interpreted as “opportunistic strategy” as it is obviously less costly since trees with top dieback produced wood with lower ( t / b ht ) 2 (6L) and thus wood density (Hentschel et al., 2014 ; Rosner et al., 2014 ).
Only a slightly significant interaction was observed in maximum vessel area between duration and treatment.
The abundance level of all the other proteins was between these two ranges and was highly significant with P -values assigned by PLGS tool.
On the other hand, “replicates” was a highly significant factor explaining most of the total variation (58%) in wild samples (for both infected and uninfected samples; ANOVA, p -value: 0.004; Supplementary Figure S5C ).
Correlations between root fructan levels and grain assimilation were highly significant, indicating that under terminal drought, root WSC represents a redistributed carbon source for grain filling rather than deep rooting.
a clear trendgold
The amino acidic profile was altered by the treatment, even though a clear trend could not be identified: lysine, isoleucine, valine, and phenylalanine degradation products could be identified among differential metabolites, together with tryptophan, arginine, methionine, and histidine precursors.
The effect of KCl induced-salinity on tissue micronutrient concentrations (Mn, Zn, and B) was highly significant ( Table 2 ).
For albumin and globulin, the amount of N absorbed during different stages all showed a decreasing trend from the surface layer to the center part.
When this relationship was explored in the full metabolomics dataset (all 1181 spectral clusters), a significant trend was also observed (Figure 8B ).
Shikimic and chlorogenic acid are potential mediators of carbon assimilation, growth rate, and final dry biomass phenotypes in sorghum An interesting trend was observed between photosynthesis, growth rates, and final dry biomass.
In general, Ψ pd showed an increasing trend with increasing soil temperature ( Figure 7 ), which was also found at the sub-alpine Smith fir sites (data not shown).
The rest of PE lipid species, except 36:2, 38:2, and 38:3 lipids, showed more or less significant increase both in drought and after re-hydration.
Under the gradual dehydration induced by withholding watering in plants, a highly significant relationship ( r 2 = 0.93; data not shown) between the RWC decline and the reduction in A N was observed.
The latter shows similar temperature increase trends at the global scale since 1958, with a decline until 1978 followed by an increasing trend since.
