Further stratified analyses between boys and girls showed that nominally significant genetic association with BMI z-scores was found in girls but not in boys ( Fig 1A ; in girls: AG vs AA coefficient = 0.6, p = 0.04, 95% CI: 0.02–1.18; GG vs AA coefficient = 1.33, p = 0.02, 95% CI: 0.17–2.49).
We find that the two depressive symptoms lead-SNPs have the predicted sign for subjective well-being, and one is nominally significant ( p = 0.04).
After adjustment for clinical variables, and correction for multiple comparisons the association between the VEGFA genotype and Gensini score remained only nominally significant ( p = 0.04, FDR = 0.19) under the dominant genetic model in patients without previous MI.
Although there was no significant relationship between exercise intervention and mtDNA-CN change (P = 0.29), there was a nominally significant association between mtDNA-CN and metabolic syndrome (P = 0.04), which has been seen in previous literature.
Results: Among the examined variants, only GDF5 rs143384 showed a nominally significant association with DDH ( p = 0.040), with the A allele more common in affected individuals.
We observed a nominally significant association between the PGC-PTSD freeze-1.5 PRS (PT = 10 −5 ) and EA ( R 2 = 0.0004%; SE = 0.000002; P = .04) that would not survive a Bonferroni correction for the number of PTs tested.
COMT Val158Met was also nominally significant in this model (F (2,109) =3.4, p =0.04) (but see below for other model results).
The authors found a slightly higher number of patients in sinus rhythm after 1 year, with a nominally significant P -value ( P = 0.04) in the primary outcome of the study, defined as sinus rhythm on at least 6 out of 7 days of a 7 day Holter ECG at 1 year follow-up.
SIRT1 rs3758391 T allele showed nominally significant associations with depressive disorders (OR = 1.19, 95% CI of 1.01 to 1.40, p = 0.040, see Table 3 ), metabolic syndrome (OR = 0.88, 95% CI of 0.80 to 0.97, p = 0.01, see Table 3 ), insulin resistance index (beta = -0.26, 95% CI of -0.48 to -0.04, p = 0.019, empirical p = 0.02, see Table 3 ) and blood glucose (beta = -0.05, CI of -0.09 to -0.002, p = 0.04, empirical p = 0.04, Table 3 ).
In the GAMs analysis, two variables showed nominally significant effects: baseline PNS index ( P = 0.040, b splin e 1 = − 0.942 ) and gender ( P = 0.028, coefficient = − 0.1332 ), with partial effects illustrated in Figure 5 and full results reported in the Supplementary Materials ( Supplementary data online , Table S5 , Supplementary data online , Figure S10 ).
Mediation tests were significant as well ( p = 0.001) and lookup of the total effect on MMSE revealed a nominally significant association (p = 0.04) (Supplementary Table S3 ).
The evidence for three populations rather than two is nominally significant as shown in the formal likelihood ratio tests ( p = 0.04; Fig. 2 c).
Genetically, three severe COVID-19 relevant SNPs (i.e., rs657152, rs10735079, and rs2109069) [ 12 , 13 ] displayed consistent associations with all-cause ARDS development in this study, of which 2 were nominally significant ( P = 0.040, 0.013, and 0.045, respectively; Fig.
