In the sensitivity analysis excluding participants who died within the first two years of follow-up, the association between lifestyle score and cancer mortality became marginally significant in the fully adjusted model, whereas the other associations remained largely unchanged ( Supplementary Table 6 , available online).
Although there were no statistically significant racial differences in associations, the isolation index was marginally associated with higher risk of hypertension in Black people only (RR, 1.05 [95% CI, 0.98–1.12]), and neighborhood socioeconomic status was a marginally significant mediator of that association (RR indirect effects, 0.993 [95% CI, 0.98–1.0004]).
20 Our cohort study has also found a marginally significant association between a higher intake of fruits and vegetables and cancer mortality. 28 Additionally, milk and dairy consumption was non-linearly associated with reduced cancer mortality in men, with those consuming the appropriate amount (a median of about 150 g/day) having the lowest risk. 29 In this study, a 1-point increment of milk and dairy products significantly decreased cancer mortality by 11% in men (data not shown).
