Complication rates showed a strong correlation with the 3-week postoperative COMI (phi coefficient: 0.232), indicating that the complications that occurred negatively affected COMI outcomes after 3 weeks; however, this finding just missed significance ( p = 0.068).
Of these, only the small subunits (lower and nodular unit) were significantly smaller ( p < 0.001), whereas the upper unit just missed significance ( p = 0.068; Figures 4C–E ).
CS offset firing difference between early extinction, late extinction, and extinction retrieval just missed significance (main effect of Time: F 2,40 = 2.875, p = 0.0681) (Fig. 4G ).

The Group effect in the right hippocampus just missed significance, F (1, 20) = 3.601, p = .07, and the Time and Group x Time interaction was not significant, both F < 1.
