Importantly, while the P -value for rs17421627 and rs1568679 are highly significant with the common standards used in GWAS ( P < 5 × 10 −8 ), this is not the case for rs16932455 ( P = 2 × 10 −6 ).

14 , 15 Our most significant finding is the identification of two novel and highly significant SNP loci, rs1736952 and rs17354984 ( p < 5 × 10 −8 ), which are strongly associated with noninfectious anterior uveitis in AS patients.
For schizophrenia, enrichment in brain is much stronger than in any other tissue type ( p = 3.26×10 −19 ), while highly significant enrichment could be observed in heart ( p = 5.02×10 −8 ) and blood ( p = 1.23×10 −6 ) as well.
We initially observed that when cases with relatively short telomeres (ie, in the first and/or second quartiles) were studied, the effect of the rs10936599 genotype was not significant, whereas a significant effect was seen in the third quartile and a highly significant effect (ln(OR) −0.43, p=5.04×10 −8 ) was seen in the fourth quartile.
LDHC showed a highly significant reduction in TIF after DTX treatment ( P = 5.06 × 10 −8 ), confirming that it is contributed to TIF by the seminiferous tubules in mice. 23 Thus, mouse TIF contains hundreds of germ cell proteins, many of which are predominantly or only expressed in developing sperm that reside “inside” the blood‐testis barrier.
This decline was highly significant (p=5.06e−08, N = 18) but the p-value calculation did not account for non-independence across years (the same prevalent cases may be included in multiple years).
Furthermore, only highly significant variants ( P ≤ 5·10 −8 ) will be selected in order to avoid false positives, but also potentially reducing the number of selected variants.
Whilst both models indicated a highly significant relation between heritability and hierarchical level ( F -tests; linear: R 2 = 0.49, F 1,44 = 43, p = 5.1 × 10 −8 ; quadratic: R 2 = 0.67, F 2,43 = 44.1, p = 3.8 × 10 −11 ), the quadratic model fitted the data better than the linear model ( F -test, F 1,43 = 23.3, p = 1.8 × 10 −5 ) because heritability increased significantly from V1 to V3 ( t -test, t 8 = 2.38, p = 0.04).
Overall, the hypothesis that the number of fibre mats affects the mixing index was highly significant (p = 5.15 × 10 −8 ).
Pearson's linear correlation 0.804 was also highly significant (P < 5.15 × 10 −8 ).
Of particular importance, a model containing independently associated markers, BMI, age and smoking status, although highly significant ( p =5.186e-08) was only able to explain 5.2% of the overall variation in PCSK9 plasma levels in our sample, genetic information being the variable with the highest effect size in our model.
Statistical analysis using a paired t-test confirmed that this improvement was highly significant ( p = 5.2 × 10−8), indicating a robust educational impact.
In the current study, a highly significant association was observed between the frequency of IL4 −590 SNP in 98 individuals allergic to D. pteronyssinus and 116 controls and the T/C genotype (p = 0.000000052) and the C allele (p = 0.010), suggesting a protective effect against sensitization to dust mites.
Indeed, the difference in k is highly significant ( p = 5.41 × 10 −8 ).
There was a highly significant difference in GJA9 allele frequencies between PN cases and controls from the original GWAS cohort ( p < 5.5 × 10 −8 ), reflected in a difference in genotype frequencies under a dominant model ( p < 1.2 × 10 −7 ), but not a recessive model ( p < 0.05) (Table 1 ).
Our strategy reveals an overall highly significant association of rs693 with MI (p=5.5×10-8) that is contrasted with a weak estimate following the traditional, sample-size-centered GWAS strategy (p=0.16) in the same sample.
However, this association is provisionally retained because the MR-PRESSO global test for pleiotropy was highly significant ( P = 5.50 × 10 −8 ), and the outlier-corrected estimate remained significant and directionally consistent with the primary IVW analysis (OR 0.41, 95% CI: 0.31–0.54).
The OMG difference for KCNJ16 , decreased in glioblastomas, became highly significant, p = 5.532 × 10 −8 , and trends for other genes improved.
This difference is highly significant (one-tailed binomial p = 5.59 × 10 −8 ) and agrees well with previous interpretations [ 64 ], demonstrating that rates of chromosomal evolution can vary by over an order of magnitude even among closely related species.
The difference on the aggregated confusion matrix of all models of these three pathogens was highly significant ( p -value = 5.6 × 10 −8 , McNemar’s test).
An additional ANOVA examining flavor–sensory correlations revealed a highly significant association for strain Khorisa/NA/3 (H-statistic = 29.56, p = 5.60 × 10− 8 ), indicating that the production of volatile compounds such as cyclohexane, heptane, and oxalic acid substantially contributed to the improved sensory attributes.
A highly significant non-synonymous SNP was found at position 15,656,689 ( p -value = 5.61 × 10 –8 ) in an ankyrin repeat protein (Medtr2g438720), and the surrounding region contained multiple ankyrin repeat genes within 1 kb of many top SNPs ( Figure 4A and Table 2 ).
