While a 1-way ANOVA fell just short of significance for a main effect of treatment (F 2,36 = 3.05, P = .0597), Dunnett’s test did reveal a significant difference between the saline group and the METH x14 group ( P < .05; Figure 5 ).

The main effect of turns (mean for 3 turns is 50.4, and mean for 4 turns is 47.9) fell just short of significance, F (1.00, 44.00) = 3.74, p = 0.060, GES = 0.004, and the interaction between the two factors was not significant either, F (4.00,176.00) = 1.15, p < 0.337, GES = 0.008.

For example, when we compared ventilatory efficiency (VE/VCO 2 ) across groups during BL, a treatment effect of E2 appeared to emerge, but fell just short of significance ( p = 0.06; Figure 5B ).
[26] Our meta-analysis of the remaining 4 studies ( supplementary table S1 ) showed a smoking RR for progression from relapsing-remitting MS to secondary progressive MS that fell just short of significance as well as highly significant statistical heterogeneity (RR 1.88, 95% CI 0.98–3.61, p = 0.06, heterogeneity: χ 2 = 13.76, p = 0.003; figure 5 ).
Bonferroni adjustment found that the AD and NPC groups were significantly different from each other ( p = 0.003), but the difference between AD and ND-HPC groups fell just short of significance ( p = 0.06) for the BFI z-score.

On the EA task, none of the ROIs showed significant group differences, but the effect on the right IPS fell just short of significance ( F (2,34) = 2.96, p = 0.065), with the controls showing more activation than the HE group ( p = 0.020) ( M s ± SD = 0.03 ± 0.10, −0.03 ± 0.15, and 0.07 ± 0.08 for the FAS/PFAS, HE and control groups, respectively).
BMI was also negatively and significantly associated with importance when using the continuous variable (rho = −.149, P = 0.009), but fell just short of significance when using the categorical variable ( P = 0.066), although it was the healthy weight group that was more likely to rate it as important.
The total indirect effect also fell just short of significance ( p = 0.068).
The protein CXCL6 showed a significant association with incident AS in Model 1 ( P =0.031), but this fell just short of significance in Model 2 ( P =0.069, Figure 5 ).
A significant positive correlation between age and T was observed in the PCA ( P = 0.0005) territory; this fell just short of significance in the ACA ( P = 0.07) territory, and no correlation was observed in the MCA territory ( P = 0.4).
Although the children with anxiety disorders reported a greater number of symptoms of anxiety and low mood than the non-anxious children, the differences fell just short of significance (SCAS-C: t (55) = 1.96, p = .07); SMFQ-C: t (55) = 1.80, p = .08).
(2) In the analysis including only participants where the mother was the primary caregiver (91% of the families), results were comparable to the main analyses, although the interaction between time and condition was statistically significant only for conduct problems (b = −0.08, se = 0.04, p = 0.03) and fell just short of significance for HCC (b = −0.39, se = 0.22, p = 0.07) when using p < 0.05 as a cut-off point (see Table S5a,b ).
The difference between the first and last visit were then calculated for each arm and then compared (Table 3 , All participants PKG+ (1st–last visit) vs PKG− (1st–final visit)): the MDS-UPDRS III was significantly different (4.1, 95% CI 1.3–6.9, P = 0.01) but the difference for MDS-UPDRS Total, while still large, fell just short of significance (4.4, 95% CI 0.6–8.4, P = 0.07).
Migratory status alone was associated with a decrease in thoracic glycogen ( p = 0.001, F = 28.2) and a potential increase in abdominal triglyceride, although the latter fell just short of significance ( p = 0.071, F = 4.349; the interaction was pooled with error, p = 0.059, F = 4.648).
