For group A, 6 MW test change scores for hW were greater than change scores for hWO, but failed to reach significance ( p = .028).

Though GPT descriptively gave worse responses following the three different “jailbreaking” prompts, compared to two contrasting prompts requesting ethical responses, this similarly failed to reach significance ( P = 0.0295, d = 0.588) after correction.

After alpha adjustment ( α = .017), differences between CSs failed to reach significance, in groups gradual, F (1, 105) = 4.86, p = .030, η p 2 = .04, standard, F (1, 105) = 1.80, p = .182, η p 2 = .02, and reversed extinction, F (1, 105) = 0.03, p = .857, η p 2 < .01.

Tube‐restraint–stressed mice traveled longer distances than control mice in the first and second 5‐minute blocks of the test ( P < .0001 and P = .0036, respectively), and film‐restraint stress mice also exhibited longer distances traveled than control mice in the first block, although the result failed to reach significance after Bonferroni correction ( P = .0306).

Compared to 25%, latency differences were even more pronounced with 75% choice-trials for the small reward difference, t (24) = 3.29, p = 0.003, but failed to reach significance for the large reward difference, t (24) = 2.29, p = 0.031, BF = 1.88.

VNS-paired training and daily injections of prazosin trended toward enhancement of jaw representation compared to naïve subjects but failed to reach significance after correction for multiple comparisons (Unpaired t -test, Naïve: 0.86 ± 0.29 mm 2 , VNS + Praz: 2.06 ± 0.40 mm 2 , p = 0.031) ( Figure 2A ).

Meanwhile, there was a significant trial n -1 x trial n interaction, F (1,12) = 11.16, p = .006, ƞ p 2 = 0.48, although the shorter time in trial n with an obstacle following trial n -1 with no obstacle ( marginal M = 830 ms, SE = 57) compared to obstacle ( marginal M = 888 ms, SE = 66) failed to reach significance ( p =.032, Holm-Bonferroni corrected alpha level = 0.025).

All exhibited positive mean scores, and 56 of 59 participants (94.9%) succeeded (three tests failed to reach significance; all other p -values ≤0.033).

Although significant at the original .05 level, LFH/FFH narrowly failed to reach significance at the adjusted level, F (1, 148) = 4.56, p = .034, partial η 2 = .03. fWHR was not significant.

Post hoc analysis revealed that 17‐ and 23‐month‐old mice spent a longer time in contact with the unfamiliar conspecific of the same age than 2‐month‐old mice, although the behavioral differences among the age groups failed to reach significance after the Bonferroni correction (17 and 23 mo > 2 mo, P = 0.0365 and P = 0.0314, respectively).

Although the enhancement effect of BSA in the phospho-T286-induced CaMKII binding failed to reach significance in the ANOVA model, it was significant by t-test, [t(5) = −2.2813, p = 0.04] ( Fig. 4 ).

While the overall inter-trial dependency × lag interaction failed to reach significance, the inter-trial dependency × lag × electrode left-right position was significant ( F (2,22) = 4.06, p < 0.04, MSE = 1.69).

Changes in JOA and SF-36 failed to reach significance between two groups, while preoperative NDI in the high SCA category was larger than the low SCA category (23.33 ± 5.70 vs 19.32 ± 4.92, p = 0.041). △NDI (pre vs post) and △NDI (pre vs F/U) in the high SCA group exceeded than that in the low SCA group (pre vs post: p = 0.018, pre vs F/U: p = 0.048) (Table 3 ).

But the t-test on convex-hull area failed to reach significance (t = − 2.09, df = 25.81, p = 0.045).

The association between rs2075650 and AD was nominally significant among ε4 homozygotes (model 4) (OR, 1.33; 95% CI, 1.00-1.77; P = .047) but failed to reach significance after APOE adjustment (model 2; OR, 1.09; 95% CI, 0.99-1.19; P = .07) or among ε3 homozygotes (model 3; OR, 1.16; 95% CI, 0.98-1.38; P = .09).

Exercise significantly elevated BDNF IV levels in comparison to ETP69 treatment, but failed to reach significance relative to sedentary controls ( Figure 2E ; Welch’s ANOVA, * p = 0.049; Dunnett’s post hoc test, * p = 0.056 ex vs. etp).

The effect for the predictive cues narrowly failed to reach significance, F (1, 31) = 4.16, p = .05, η p 2 = .12, 90% CI [.00, .30].

However, the associated correlations on rank order and sales prediction value with the actual sales data failed to reach significance threshold of p < 0.05 ( r s = 0.771, n = 6, p = 0.072; r p = 0.648, n = 6, p = 0.164).

A similar pattern was seen in Experiment 2, in which the correlation again failed to reach significance in Block 1, r = –.32, was marginally significant in Block 2, r = –.45, p = .05, and was significant in Blocks 3 and 4, r = –.78 and r = –.83 for Blocks 3 and 4, respectively, p s < .004.

At 2 year follow-up the STAI-T covariate effect was significant (F(1,57) = 8.561, P < 0.01, η p 2 = 0.131), although the group effect failed to reach significance (F(1,57) = 3.956, P = 0.05, η p 2 = 0.065).

We interpreted this positive relationship that trended toward significance to be indicative that the two novel objects were eliciting similar responses from the penguins, but acknowledged that the relationship failed to reach significance at the traditional p < 0.05 level, which we consider in our interpretation of the results below.
