Perceived dangerousness was positively associated with biogenetic explanation in both experimental and correlational studies while prognostic pessimism showed a tendency of positive relationship close to the level of significance ( P = 0.073) with biogenetic explanation in the experimental studies.
However, because a three-way anova (stress × hemisphere × period) revealed that period had a main effect close to the level of significance ( P =0.08; Table 2 , Fig. 3 ) we decided to carry out a more detailed Sholl analysis with the pooled data from the two hemispheres.
For six of the assessed genes ( GAS5 , XIST , NEAT1 , Osteopontin, Osteocalcin, and Collagen 1), the differentiation was associated with lower gene expression, although only XIST and NEAT1 were statistically significant, and GAS5 and Osteocalcin were close to the level of significance.
That is, if both effects are in the data (i.e., the true model is M1: het‐GLM‐skew) these are detected with a power close to 1.00, and if one of the effects is in the data, that effect is detected with an acceptable power, and the other effect (which is not in the data) is detected with a power close to the level of significance (indicating that the Type I error rate is not increased).
Considering JADAD, the U Mann-Whitney test revealed a significant difference pertaining to 1 and 3 universities group (p=0.014), 1 and 4 universities group (p=0.025), 2 and 3 universities group (p=0.048), and 2 and 4 universities group (p=0.079); of course, the difference in 2 and 4 universities’ group was close to the level of significance.
