While some of the genes in this operon did not meet the p-value cutoff of 0.05, many approached significance and were essential by HMM analysis ( S2 Data ). gspD , gspE , gspF , gspG , and gspK were statistically underrepresented in the chitin growth condition, while gspC and gspI approached significance. gspH , gspJ , and gspL were not underrepresented in the chitin growth condition ( Fig 2D ).
For headless bodies, discrimination performance at the head region did not differ significantly from that at the torso (paired t (15) = 2.08, p > 0.054 two-tailed, bias corrected G Hedges = 0.58) or pelvis (paired t (15) = 1.70, p > 0.10 two-tailed, bias corrected G Hedges = 0.48), though the lower performance at the head region than the torso approached significance.
When alternative definitions of old RBCs were used, the transfusion of one or more units of RBCs 21 or more days old was associated with increased DVT and there was an association that approached significance with the transfusion of 1 or more units of RBCs 14 or more days old (Table 3 ).
5 CONCLUSION The present data indicates that prepubertal males swim 1.16%–2.63% significantly faster than females in the 50 yd (45.7), 100 yd (91.4), and 200 yd (182.9 m) freestyle, 100 yd backstroke, 50 yd breaststroke, 100 yd butterfly, and 100 and 200 yd IM, but not in the 500 yd (457.2 m) freestyle, 50 yd butterfly, 100 yd breaststroke, or 50 yd backstroke (although the differences in the 50 yd backstroke approached significance).
Predictors of 3–4-Year HRQoL Male sex (HR: 2.02; 95% CI: 1.14–3.56; p = 0.02), less severe index stroke (NIHSS: HR: 0.94; 95% CI: 0.90–0.99; p = 0.02), and the absence of diabetes mellitus as a risk factor (HR: 2.21; 95% CI: 1.04–4.70; p = 0.04) approached significance as independent predictors for better global HRQoL (as measured with SF-36) among 195 responding 3–4-year stroke survivors.
