The ketone precursor to 11 i (i.e., 10 i ) was prepared by addition of PhSO 2 CH 2 anion to the Weinreb amide PhCH 2 CONMe(OMe). The ATH [using formic acid/triethylamine (FA/TEA) 5:2 azeotrope] of 10 a – d revealed an unexpected trend in which the product ee value increased as the ring became smaller in the series from cyclohexyl ( 11 a , 87 % ee ) to cyclopropyl ( 11 d , 99 % ee ), although it remained high in each case (Figure 4 ).
16 In the context of our studies to utilise halogen bonding in organocatalysis, we had performed orientating computations on simple halogen‐bond donors (halogen‐based Lewis acids) and had found an unexpected trend in the series of complexes CX 3 I⋅⋅⋅Cl − and CX 3 I⋅⋅⋅NH 3 (X=F, Cl, Br, I). 17 For instance, the trifluoromethyl group is surely more electronegative than the triiodomethyl group, and thus CF 3 I ( 2 ) should feature a deeper σ‐hole than CI 4 (CI 3 I, 5 ) and should consequently also form stronger complexes to both Lewis bases (Figure 2 ).
Implications in Risk Management to Maintain Worker Confidence, Compliance, and Risk Avoidance Throughout Tenure An unexpected trend presented itself in the latter two case studies, showing that workers new to a specific mine or to the mining industry (albeit not controlling for job tenure) tend to be more risk-avoidant, confident in their self-escape abilities, and compliant on the job.
Finally, the study that incorporated both perceived and objective measures indicated an unexpected trend where neighborhood violent crime was associated with a lower risk of elevated blood pressure (prevalence ratio, 0.97 [95% CI, 0.92–1.02) and neighborhood safety with a higher risk of elevated blood pressure (prevalence ratio, 1.02 [95% CI, 0.96–1.08). 46 However, the associations were not statistically significant.
