3.5 Acoustic startle response and sensorimotor gating The genotype had no impact on the acoustic startle response to various startle pulses [RM ANOVA, ‘genotype’ by ‘startle’: F(2,96) = 1.2, p = .3] but there was a strong trend for a ‘sex’ by ‘startle’ interaction [F(2,96) = 3.0, p = .06] ( Fig 4A ).
VIQ scores showed the closest correlation with calcification scores and slightly weaker correlations with the atrophy and total scores ( Table 4 ); full-scale IQ showed similar correlations, while NVIQ was not predicted significantly by any MRI variable, although both the total score and atrophy score showed a strong trend (p=0.06 for both, without FDR correction).
