There is still very little data and no evidence supporting an association between PALB2 mutations and prostate cancer risk [ 13 , 36 – 39 ] although several pedigrees have been presented and a possible trend toward aggressive disease in carriers has been noted [ 39 ]. iCOGS measured PALB2 (c.1592delT, p.Leu531Cysfs and c.3113G > A, p.Trp1038*) in 22,301 prostate cancer cases and 22,320 controls and found no evidence for association with prostate cancer risk OR 2.06, 95 % CI 0.59–7.11, p = 0.24 and OR 0.49, 95 % CI, 0.18–1.36, p = 0.16 respectively.
A possible trend emerging from the studies reviewed here ( Supplementary Tables S1–S4 ) is that where pan-azole resistant ARAf is found in soils sampled from (growing) crop settings, the widespread TR 34 /L98H and TR 46 /Y121F/T289A mutations tend to be detected, perhaps as the result of deposition from the air spora, whereas greater genetic variation (and higher CFU numbers) are found in waste piles, compost, and soil into which compost has been incorporated. 3.6.
For stable patients, there was no evidence of a survival benefit from NIV (relative risk [RR] 0.88 [0.55, 1.43], I 2 =60.4%, n=7 RCTs), but there was a possible trend toward fewer hospitalizations (weighted mean difference −0.46 [−1.02, 0.09], I 2 =59.2%, n=5 RCTs) and improved health-related quality of life.
