Participants who were habitual drinkers but consumed less than two units per day appeared to be about one-and-a-half times (OR=1.40, 95% CI=0.89-2.20 for Controls I , and OR=1.42, 95% CI=0.91-2.22 for Controls II ) as likely as non-drinkers to have been cases, and although this increased risk was not statistically significant, it contributed to modest evidence of a positive trend in risk of sudden deafness across alcohol intake categories (p-values for trend =0.02 for Controls I , and 0.05 for Controls II ).
Shockingly, nearly 250 million children (43%) under the age of five in low- and middle-income countries are at risk of not reaching their full developmental potential.[ 3 ] Before the COVID-19 pandemic, promising data from 2012 to 2020 revealed a positive trend in early learning participation, with 65% in 2010 rising to 73% in 2019 across 76 countries.
Neither drug had any effect on the difference in STP between distal and proximal inputs (CTZ PPR = prox 1.18 ± 0.09, dist 1.51 ± 0.09, n = 9, p = 0.01; γDGG PPR = prox 1.36 ± 0.07, dist 1.64 ± 0.09, n = 13, p < 0.01; two-way ANOVA for control, CTZ, and γDGG, interaction p = 0.84), although there was a positive trend of γDGG on facilitation ( Figure S3 ) that could reflect multivesicular release during the train ( Christie and Jahr, 2006 , Oertner et al., 2002 , Wadiche and Jahr, 2001 ).
