The recent phase III BETonMACE trial, designed to investigate the impact of APA on cardiovascular outcomes in 2,425 patients with diabetes after an acute coronary syndrome, failed to meet the primary endpoint (cardiovascular death, non-fatal myocardial infarction, or stroke), but showed a favorable trend (18% difference in relative risk), indicating that APA might be a promising treatment option and suggesting that larger clinical trials are needed in this patient population.

47 In this study, the survival rate was not significantly different between the LS-MF and HS-MF groups, although there was a favorable trend in the HS-ER group compared with the HS-MF group, indicating the need for further studies with increased power.
The observed reduction in serum cholesterol, although not statistically significant in this analysis ( P = .23), follows a favorable trend and is consistent with the known lipid-modifying effects of GLP-1 RAs.
At 12 months, an improvement of initial DAS28-ESR category or maintenance in DAS28-ESR remission/LDA was shown in 181 patients (61.4%, 95% CI [55.5–66.9%]) of the main population with a favorable trend observed in switch patients compared to no-switch patients (69.2%, 95% CI [58.7–78.5%] vs. 57.8%, 95% CI [50.8–64.7%]) (Table 3 ).
Importantly, the STROKESTOP trial provided randomized evidence that systematic screening for AF in an elderly population (aged 75-76 years) with intermittent ECG monitoring was feasible and safe, and although the reduction in stroke or SE did not reach conventional statistical significance, the intervention group demonstrated a favorable trend towards improved clinical outcomes, including fewer strokes and lower mortality[ 18 ].
91 , 92 At the prespecified primary data analysis, treatment with ivonescimab/chemotherapy resulted in significant improvement in PFS (HR 0.52, 95% CI 0.41-0.66, P < 0.00001), with a favorable trend for OS (HR 0.79, 95% CI 0.62-1.01) that did not achieve statistical significance. 90 The primary analysis of OS was event driven and conducted at a time when the median follow-up for the overall population was 29.7 months, but was 9.2 months for the subgroup of patients from North America and Europ
