There was a clear trend (although not statistically significant due to several outlier strains, P = 0.09, ANOVA [analysis of variance]) between the number of translocation alleles and the final cell density in grape juice, as strains homozygous for the translocation grew better than heterozygotes, which grew better than strains with no translocation ( fig. 3 B ).
