Several adhesion molecules, Tnr, Cadh11, Pcdhgc3, and Sema6d, were also significantly regulated with a clear trend for downregulation in both forms of scaling ( Figure 5 ; Tables S2 and S4 ), reminiscent of earlier studies showing that downregulation of adhesion is required for structural plasticity at synapses ( Mayford et al., 1992 , Schuster et al., 1996 ).
The 10 patients who had not developed recurrence by the end of the study period had serum CA19–9 levels of 7 IU/L (range <2–13 IU/L), but in those patients who had recurrent disease, the serum CA19–9 level showed a clear trend of increase during the post-operative period, and at the time of a documented radiological recurrence, the serum CA19–9 level was 1818 IU/L (range 75–7049 IU/L). 4.
The development of the peak heights do not follow a clear trend (insets of Fig. 2 ) and for nearly all datasets they remain stable over time (see Supplementary Fig. 5 for full distributions, the exception of Wikipedia is discussed in Supplementary note 1).

The precise contribution and interdependence of NADPH oxidase and mtROS to AM anti- Aspergillus activity remain to be determined, though it is notable that both rotenone- or carbonyl cyanide 4-(trifluoromethoxy) phenylhydrazone (FCCP)-treated macrophages in vitro ( 34 ) and mtH 2 O 2 -neutralized AMs in vivo both exhibit a clear trend to decreased antifungal activity when NADPH oxidase is either pharmacologically blocked (i.e., diphenyleneiodonium chloride [DPI]) or genetically ablated.
