Discussion In accordance with our first hypothesis stating that both BT programs will result in enhanced postural control, the two groups showed partially significant improvements (medium effect sizes) of their static (reduced number of ground contacts during OLS on foam ground) and dynamic (increased YBT-LQ anterior reach distance) balance performance.
Although flavonoids such as ipriflavone have been proposed as CEMIP hyaluronidase inhibitors [ 17 , 36 ], ipriflavone did not inhibit the CEMIP hyaluronidase activity in our assay, likely because higher concentrations that those we employed here are required to achieve partially significant inhibitory effects [ 36 ], suggesting that ipriflavone is a relatively weak CEMIP inhibitor.
Genes encoding proteins essential for lipid synthesis (e.g., Fasn (fatty acid synthase), Agpat (1-acylglycerol-3-phosphate O-acyltransferase 1) and Pdk4 (pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase, isoenzyme 4)) exhibited a partially significant increase in female SAT, whereas no change was detected in males, with the exception of Fasn, which was surprisingly significantly decreased ( Figure 4 B).
Using multiple regression analysis to identify the predictors of favorable neurological outcome at each time point poststroke in this cohort (Table 5 ), PLRs were not significant predictors for favorable neurological outcomes considering that p values were partially significant on crude OR but all insignificant on adjusted OR (aOR).
