We made an a priori decision that a difference in prevalence between two subgroups (e.g., two levels of education, men, and women, or two racial/ethnic groups) would only be considered meaningfully significant if the aPR was statistically significant and the two age-standardized percentages differed by ≥ 1 percentage point.
The same racial and ethnic differences were seen in the subset of adults who had an activated portal account by the end of 2020, but some of the meaningfully significant age-specific differences within racial and ethnic groups in the full population were nonsignificant among those with activated accounts ( Table 3 ).
Finally, the gender of the person described in the vignette (Michael or Michelle) did not appear to play a role in respondent recognition of PDA. In terms of the regional and county-level variables, the only statistically meaningfully significant factor with regard to PDA recognition was if the respondent was from a county in the highest quartile of mental health providers per capita. 1 Relative to those from counties in the lowest quartile respondents in the highest quartile counties were less than half as likely to correctly identify the condition as PDA.
