Results Regular ICS use was associated with only very slightly increased onset of COVID-19, hospitalization, ICU admission, and death in the overall whole population cohort and in the overall COPD subpopulation cohort, except for ICU admission (marginally non-significant HRs, up to 1.13); and no clear increase in the diagnosed sub-cohorts.
While the results with regards to the significant interaction between lockdown.stage*screen.time should be treated with caution due to the marginally non-significant interaction in the full model, they suggest that those children who had smaller increases in screen time during lockdown relative to prior to lockdown were reported to have larger increases in expressive vocabulary during lockdown (see Fig. 5 ).
Our meta-analysis of published Brazilian infection-without-disease tuberculosis surveys, including tuberculin skin tests (TST) [69] – [72] and, in one case, TST plus an IFN-γ release assay [73] , revealed a marginally non-significant male bias in exposure to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (random-effects OR 1.16, 95%CI 1.00–1.36; N = 6725 subjects; Figure 4 ).
A logistic regression confirmed that survival did not differ among populations (Z = −1.3, P = 0.2) or treatments (Z = 1.9, P = 0.06), although the treatment effect was only marginally non-significant and slightly more individuals died where water levels were kept constant (53%) compared to treatments with falling water levels (40%).
In addition, the risk of alcohol drinking was lower in patients with a longer period of abstinence before inclusion in the univariate analysis, as craving and other negative effects tended to decline over time after patients initiated abstinence [ 40 ], but this relationship became marginally non-significant in the multivariate model.
