In addition, GATA3 significantly repressed ‘stem cell' genes whose downregulation is essential for further T cell development ( LMO2 , MEF2C and SPI1 ) 33 34 , and/or that are involved in the development of other haematopoietic lineages such as CD79A for B cell development (downregulation of EBF1 , expressed at low levels, was observed but just failed to reach significance, P =0.052) and ID2 for NK-lineage differentiation 35 ( Fig. 5e , Supplementary Data 1 ).
Looking at estimated trends over time, there was a significant decrease in pre‐session, but not post‐session stress levels over the course of 2 weeks in both control and intervention groups; however, after correcting for multiple comparisons, the pre‐session effect of the intervention group just failed to reach significance ( p = 0.052).
This was confirmed by paired-group Mann-Whitney U comparisons revealing significant differences in the frequency of children who passed between 6 and 10 years ( U (1) = 216, Z = 4.65, p < .0001), between 8 and 10 years ( U (1) = 300, Z = 2.9, p < .005), and a difference between age groups 6 and 8 years that just failed to reach significance ( U (1) = 386, Z = 1.94, p = .052; Fig. 2 ).
Results Quantitative measures Mean scores for the five scales are provided for participants categorised into two groups: those currently experiencing an ED, and those who report being in recovery (Table 1 ). Significant differences were found between the two groups for all measures except the rumination scale which just failed to reach significance ( p = .052).
Concerning the area of entrapment, athletic identity was negatively associated with the burnout dimensions sport devaluation and reduced sense of accomplishment and positively with the burnout dimension physical/ emotional exhaustion, even though it just failed to reach significance for this specific dimension ( p = 0.052).
The difference between performance in silence ( M = 22.47) and in the presence of sound ( M = 17.13) just failed to reach significance, F (1, 64) = 3.90, p = .053, η 2 p = 5.7%, but there was no significant difference in performance between the music and noise conditions, F < 1.
These findings were confirmed in the present experiment: on trial 1 of day 4, paths were longer in rats with complete hippocampal lesions ( F 4,84 = 2.76, p < 0.03), as compared to sham-operated rats ( p < 0.01) and the partial-lesion groups ( p < 0.03), excepting rats with remnants at the temporal pole for which the difference just failed to reach significance ( p = 0.054); the partial lesion groups did not differ from each other or the sham-lesioned rats ( p > 0.3) ( Figure S3 A).
