Eighteen of 68 patients undergoing cholecystectomy had symptom deterioration, while only fourteen of 103 patients who received conservative treatment deteriorated, although this difference did not quite reach statistical significance (chi-squared test P = .056; Fig. 2 A).
For Jeanie, although the number of helpful intentions endorsed was slightly higher at follow up than at baseline among the tMHFA students, this did not quite reach statistical significance ( p = 0.056) when compared to scores over time reported by those receiving PFA.
Consistent with this expectation, the overall pattern suggested higher X than autosomal expression, although the results did not quite reach statistical significance (females: Welch’s t 28.842 = −1.6342, P = 0.0565; males: Welch’s t 25.549 = −1.4316, P = 0.08219; see supplementary file S2 , Supplementary Material online, for genes tested), perhaps as a result of low power given the small number of genes (X: 14, autosomes: 63 genes) as was the case for T. castaneum ( Prince et al. 2010 ).
Venous flow velocity appeared to be greater among younger subjects, and decreased in elderly subjects (p=0.042) ( Figure 1 ) Interestingly, resting venous flow velocity appeared to be greater among subjects without dyslipidemia 10.042±8.26 cm/sec versus 9.635±10.177 in those with dyslipidemia, although this difference did not quite reach statistical significance (p=0.057).

The majority of study participants who progressed to this combined endpoint met the CD4 criterion (15 versus 17 for prednisolone and placebo, respectively), whereas only a much smaller fraction of study participants reached the clinical endpoint “onset of AIDS-defining condition” (4 versus 11), and differences in this purely clinical endpoint did not quite reach statistical significance (p = 0.0575).
Among patients who did not receive anti-IL-6 receptor monoclonal antibodies, there was an increased unadjusted risk of progression of respiratory failure or death among males compared to female patients; although this did not quite reach statistical significance ( p = 0.058).
In a multivariable analysis of T1–2, C1–2, and > 1+ glomerular C3 staining, the former 2 variables were independent predictors of graft loss with hazard ratios of 3.18 and 3.70 and P -values of 0.0103 and 0.0012, respectively, whereas C3 staining did not quite reach statistical significance ( P = 0.0585) despite a robust hazard ratio of 2.32.
The experimental group had a greater improvement in CRR than controls (Hedges' g = 0.85), but the result did not quite reach statistical significance (group × time interaction effect: F = 3.868, p = 0.059, η p 2 = 0.121) (Table 3 ). 3.7.
