Although the Charnley stem is considered the more historic method of hip arthroplasty, we have demonstrated equal performance of the Charnley stem when we compared it to the use of the Exeter stem, with better performance across areas such as WOMAC score which did not quite reach statistical significance.
Considering all participants in whom 8‐oxo‐dG measurements were made ( n = 75), there was only a significant univariate relationship between 8‐oxo‐dG levels and BMI (standardized β 0.32, P = 0.005); although there were trends towards an association between 8‐oxo‐dG levels with FFMI ( P = 0.06), RV/TLC ( P = 0.08), and serum GDF‐15 ( P = 0.06), these relationships did not quite reach statistical significance.
In addition, there were a number of clinical conditions that were clearly overrepresented among participants with COCD, such as major depressive disorder, bipolar disorders, social phobia, several individual SUDs and dissociative disorder, though these associations did not quite reach statistical significance or were reduced below the significance threshold when we controlled for multiple comparisons.
