Results MR and RMR analyses The IVW method provided suggestive evidence of a positive association between genetic liability to depression and T2D risk (OR = 1.38, 95% CI: 1.01–1.90, p < 0.05); however, the borderline significance and wide confidence interval warrant cautious interpretation of this finding.

We found that high expression of five (PSMB4, PSMB7, PSMD14, PSMB2 and PSMD11) out of the top six genes ( Figure 4a ) were all associated with significantly worse 10-year metastatic rate in younger men, and the final gene PSMD6 showed the same trend with borderline significance ( Figures 4c–h ).

Insulin or combined therapy (OR 3.62, 95% CI 0.99–13.24, p = 0.05) and ABI (OR 0.14, 95% CI 0.02–1.08, p = 0.06) showed borderline significance, whereas CRP and WBC remained non-significant.

The frequentist analysis reported borderline significance, leaving uncertainty regarding the robustness and magnitude of benefit.

Compared to Lo 2023, which found no clear cannabis-only mortality link, our increased perinatal mortality (RR = 1.72, 95% CI = 1.09–2.71) suggests newer studies may amplify this signal, though with borderline significance.

Furthermore, TP73 and BRCA1 promoter hypermethylation were related to recurrence, albeit with low statistical significance or borderline significance, respectively (Table 3 ).

By contrast, when considering absolute cell count, the intermediate (CD14 ++ /CD16 + ) monocyte subset showed detrimental association with all-cause death and the composite end-point and showed borderline significance with HF-related hospitalization, while the non-classical (CD14 + /CD16 ++ ) subset showed protective association with all-cause death and borderline significance with the composite end-point in the univariable analyses ( Table 3 ).

Although this hazard ratio reflects borderline significance, the clinical relevance should not be overlooked.

Significant differences in rates of decline when QuickSIN score is above 20 were similarly observed in global (Estimate = −0.09 SD, 95% CI: −0.13, −0.04), memory (Estimate = −0.04 SD, 95% CI: −0.07, −0.00), executive function (Estimate = −0.04 SD, 95% CI: −0.08, −0.00) and attention (Estimate = −0.04 SD, 95% CI: −0.08, −0.01), while the language domain (Estimate = −0.02 SD, 95% CI: −0.05, 0.00) showed borderline significance ( Table 5 ).

In a multivariate analysis, only factors that showed significance or borderline significance in univariate analyses were included in the analyses.
