In our study, the subclassification of subjects in NPD or PD according to HbA1c (< 5.7% and 5.7 – 6.4%, respectively) and/or FPG (< 100 mg/dL and 100 – 125 mg/dL, respectively) levels showed that both NPD and PD under either treatment scheme had similar weight loss time-courses, with borderline significance to greater reductions in the PD-MM subgroup (10.2 kg at month 6).
The PFS was better, with borderline significance, in patients that received second line bevacizumab compared to those that received third or later line bevacizumab (5.0 vs. 2.4 months, hazard ratio (HR) 0.49 [95% CI, 0.23–1.05], P = 0.060); the OS was not statistically different according to the line of bevacizumab treatment (16.4 vs. 11.2 months, HR 0.67 [95% CI, 0.24–1.83], P = 0.426).
After adjusting for covariates, disorganization symptoms showed a positive association at borderline significance with relapse during pregnancy (adjusted odds ratio [aOR] = 1.36; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 0.99–1.87 per unit increase in number of symptoms) and depressive symptoms negatively with relapse postpartum (0.78; 0.62–0.98).
As the evidence also suggests for individuals following healthy aging trajectories, individuals in this cluster mostly used health-promoting coping mechanisms, such as active problem-solving strategies (of a borderline significance) and positive emotional and/or cognitive appraisal of stressful situations (indicating by positive reframing), which might have rendered them capable of diminishing the hazardous effects of emotional distress on the body and mind, and of slowing down the development of comorbidities ( 28 ).
As shown in Table 2 , after the adjustment of the other baseline variables, age (HR= 1.04, 95% CI 1.00–1.09) and cigarette smoking (HR= 2.68, 95% CI 0.94–7.63; a borderline significance) were found to be the two most important predictors of an increased risk of liver cancer after 15.9 years of follow-up among these study subjects.
