Conclusions Longitudinal analysis of middle-aged hospital attendees without or with type-2 diabetes for overall mortality and a composite endpoint of death, non-fatal cardiac, or non-cardiac disease risk documented in combined gender that “reduced” SUA assays contributed significantly to non-fatal outcomes (RR around 1.5), and at borderline significance to the composite endpoint, additively to conventional cardiovascular risk factors.
In multivariate analyses (Table 3 ), the minor alleles of IRF4 (rs12203592), PARP1 (rs3219090), CDK6 (rs2079147) and PLA2G6 (rs738322) were significantly associated with either increased (rs12203592) or decreased (rs3219090, rs2079147, rs738322) naevus count in at least one of the multivariate methods considered, and two SNPs, in PARP1 and in APEX1 , displayed borderline significance.
Children who were born to mothers with joint GDM and HDP had ~1-fold higher multivariable-adjusted risk of overweight compared with children who were born to mothers with GDM only, but this association changed to borderline significance after additional adjustment for maternal pre-pregnancy BMI and gestational weight gain.
Findings showed that there was a significant negative correlation between the presence of US detectable pathology and peak pressure values in the right foot lateral segment at follow up (PCC = -0.412, p = 0.046), but this only demonstrates borderline significance at the 5% level, and care should be taken when inferring from this level of evidence.
