We also validated the significant and positive association between the mRNA expression of SLAMF8 and CD8A in our RNA‐sequencing data of CRC with 20 tissue samples (Figure 3 a and b, P = 0.005), but we only observed borderline significance (Figure 3 c and d, P = 0.089) for this association in the RNA‐sequencing data of 19 GC tissue samples, probably because of the limited sample size.

In multivariable logistic regression, younger age (OR 0.98; p < 0.001), higher AISI (per 100-unit increase; OR 1.01; p = 0.037), and lower LVEF (OR 0.98; p < 0.001) independently predicted tirofiban use, whereas admission glucose showed only borderline significance ( p = 0.089).
borderline significanceP = 0.0901.8× alpha
Additionally, the maximum and mean lipid arcs were wider in patients with RA1c than in those with NA1c with a borderline significance (maximum lipid arc: 232.4 ± 91.3° [RA1c] vs. 199.7 ± 79.9° [NA1c], P = 0.090; mean lipid arc: 164.7 ± 63.7° [RA1c] vs. 142.2 ± 57.1° [NA1c], P = 0.090).

In keeping with our finding of a lower mean percentage of T cells that were naïve in Malawians, we found that, based on CCR7 expression, Malawian adolescents had lower mean percentages of naïve CD4 + and CD8 + T cells than UK adolescents; this was highly significant for the CD8 population, although the difference in naïve CD4 + CCR7 + T cells was of only borderline significance for the 12–15 year old age group (p = 0.09) becoming more significant in the older (16–25 year old) age group (p = 0.003) (see Table 2 ).
