The FT k 3 -weighted χ ( k )-function and structural parameters analysis based on the fitting of EXAFS spectra showed that the coordination number of Ru–Cl over Ru–N–In/NC-3h was kept ~1, while the coordination number of Ru–Cl on the post-hydrochlorination RuN 4 /NC presented an increasing trend, from ~1.3 (RuN 4 /NC-1h) to ~2.6 (RuN 4 /NC-3h) (Supplementary Table 7 ), verifying that the asymmetric Ru–N–In/NC configuration inherently blocked the over-chlorination of Ru.
