Looking at the expression of hypertrophic genes, at day 28 collagen type 10 ( COL10 ), a hallmark of hypertrophic phenotype, [ 25 ] showed an almost significantly higher expression compared to day 14, suggesting that a two-week differentiation period of SPH in 96-well plates increased its expression but may not be sufficient to reach a fully hypertrophic stage.
Having mentioned many potential problems, in this study, it was encouraging to find that no accidental pierced-through of the screw to the wrist joint surface, and more importantly, all the tested parameters in DDG and the RSG groups were not significant different; however, the palmar tilt in two groups was almost significantly different (p is only 0.07 in this case), suggesting the anatomical reduction of the palmar tilt is probably not as good as other parameters.
A multivariate linear regression analysis using CD4 counts, HIV-pVL, presence of HCV coinfection, drug abuse and gender as explanatory variables, and the different immune parameters as dependent variables, revealed that some parameters involved in HIV pathogenesis could be affected by HCV coinfection: a) exhaustion of CD4 T-cells was associated only with HIV-pVL; b) level of naïve RTE CD4 T-cells with presence of HCV coinfection; c) apoptosis and turnover of CD4 T-cells was associated with CD4 counts; d) activation (CD38+HLADR- subset) of CD8 T-cells was associated with HIV-pVL and almost significantly with presence of HCV coinfection; e) exhaustion of CD8 T-cells was associated with both presence of HCV coinfection and CD4 count ( Table 2 ).
