The SHEP trial (Systolic Hypertension in the Elderly Program) found a nonsignificant trend for a 16% reduction in dementia incidence in the treatment group compared with controls. 85 However, as has been noted in a subsequent reanalyses, 86 a higher drop-out rate in the placebo group may have biased results towards the null hypothesis, particularly in the context of a disease with progressive cognitive decline.
53 , 54 In direct comparison with balloon aortic valvuloplasty, TAVR shows a nonsignificant trend toward benefit in mortality rates, with less postprocedural MI and increased pacemaker implantation and bleeding/vascular events. 55 Given the mortality benefit, recent consensus documents suggest TAVR as the “go‐to” option in suitable patients, while balloon aortic valvuloplasty remains an alternative wherever TAVR is not available. 56 Similar indications for mitral TEER, though, do not exist, as the same consensus indicated TEER over surgery only in patients with prohibitive surgical risk.
In this pilot study, the plasma IL-6 level is a promising biomarker to identify pediatric kidney transplant recipients free from AR and cAMR and might help to distinguish between both entities, whereas there is only a nonsignificant trend toward the usability of IL-10.
7 In both previous studies, 6 , 7 each adverse event besides target vessel revascularization showed a nonsignificant trend toward a higher incidence in patients with PR, which potentially indicates greater atheromatous burden not only in the culprit vessels, but also in nonculprit vessels of patients with PR compared with those with IFC.
WP1066 was associated with a nonsignificant trend towards decreased contractile function (fractional shortening 53±2% on Day 7), but co‐administration of erlotinib and WP1066 significantly decreased fractional shortening to 49±2% (Table 2 ; Figure 6 C).
